We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica jbunny Solomon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica jbunny, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued this career because I love music… The soundtrack of my life is filled with all types of music, LOL. My father played the bass and drums in different gospel groups on weekends. My mom sang in the church choir. I played the clarinet throughout middle school, and in high school, I was in the marching band. I believe I have an excellent ear and a knack for writing music, but this is more stress release than professional.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a radio personality for Wlmrradio, I’m an event host, and I am one-half of the team with my husband. I would have to say I am most proud of my win in the 2020 tri-city awards hosted by Mr. Quinton Miles. I won my first “Host of the year” award. Getting to where I am today was not easy. I have learned a lot along the way… first and foremost, I learned to be true to myself. I got to be true to me! If I don’t know who I am and what I want, no one else will. If I don’t believe in me, why on earth would anyone else? I invest a lot in myself; I have to be my own fan!
What I want people to know about my story… is that it is never too late to change your life and live your dream. It will not be easy, but it can be done… My story could be their story.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many that come to mind; let me start with my husband; we are a team, and we work well together. We do great business together, and with his support, I can live my dream. He is my biggest fan and my support system all the way around. You may know him as SPMG Stackz; he is an incredible rapper. His EP is out now on all major platforms Trials, and Tribulations go get now …….
Second, Levi sporting my boss. He gave me a shot fresh off the street, not knowing much about this business.
Tabatha Mungin is an awesome woman that has helped me in ways that she might not be aware of. She is the author of A classy lady Blueprint Etiquette for Young Ladies. Available on Amazon, go get you a copy. You can never go wrong with a good book, LOL.
Of course, my family, my parents, Yvonne and Jesse Solomon. From whom I gained my strength and drive. My dad always has my back and would move the earth if he could. He’s the best girl dad ever! LOL.
My sisters, Shell and Elle! They are my best friends. My brother Keith Thornton aka BIG KEITH, “bodyguard to the stars,” and his wife are my good friends and sounding board. Most of all, my two kids Taylor and Katherine- Olivia. Every move I make is because of them, and they keep a smile on my face.
Lastly, to all my girlfriends, because you need support and love from other women!
