We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, how do you think about risk?
I think taking risks is one of the best ways to know what you are capable of and how far you can go. Staying in the comfort zone will never bring new experiences or learnings.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am definitely very proud to be where I am now. I moved to the United States when I was 21, alone, without my family, without my friends, with nothing. I followed my dream of improving my English and not only did I achieve it, but I was able to create a life and a family, studying, learning and giving my best. It was not easy at all, but I set my min to it and I succeeded.
Every day I am growing professionally and I am very happy with where I am and where I am going. I have learned to be patient, to work hard, and to enjoy every little thing!
I want the world to know that you can do what you set out to do! Work hard, be honest, don’t hurt anyone along the way, and do your best. Many people will tell you that you are going to fail, but it is up to you to prove them all wrong!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m pretty organized so I will definitely do and itinerary day by day Monday: Coca Cola World, Georgia Aquarium and Centenial Park
Tuesday: Piedmont Park, Botanical Garden
Wednesday: Ponce City Market
Thursday: Six Flags
Friday: Helen, GA
The visitor will have to try Chick Fil A for sure but I will also take her/him to Vortex, Botánico, Holeman and Finch, etc
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely my mom! A big shoutout to her from teaching me to never give up, to go after my dreams and for always supporting me in every little thing..
