We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Isabel Aguilar Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I have ever made was stepping in to become the caregiver for both of my siblings after my mothers passing. I have learned several things within myself and my family throughout the time of our loss. It has brought us 3 closer than ever. Most of my time is dedicated to my family and my passion for my craft. I continue to take my brother Christopher to his therapies and extracurricular activities as I also teach my sister how to drive and become an independent young woman. When I have time for myself, I learn more about how I can create my next project. I research and think of new designs for J3ssicuhsart. J3ssicuhsart has given me peace in times of heaviness from a long day of making sure my family is taken care of. J3ssicuhsart is love and a strive for a better future. That has been one of the best and most difficult decisions I have made. I thank my mother for always motivating me. Now it is my siblings who motivate me in the most difficult of times.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
J3ssicuhsart is a display of various art pieces using different flows of line work and pattern. My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas I have within myself and the world we live in. Each artwork created is a piece of my life displayed artistically using different mediums. My thoughts are all combined to bring a flowing piece of art. Each abstract piece is created to give the viewer different perspectives. Each line and shape can be depicted differently depending on how the artwork is framed. My personality is embraced within each piece. Fine detailed with clean lines creates an immersive experience getting to see me. I have found purpose in creation. I am excited about all the possibilities. They are endless when you are a creator. You see things a lot differently. The creation process is definitely the most exciting. Being able to put something I pictured on my mind to paper is a great feeling almost refreshing. The challenges I have experienced have been within myself. I am mourning the loss of my mother as I am also the caretaker for my siblings. I have learned to balance everything out where I am not overwhelmed. On the heaviest days I enjoy doing mediation yoga, reading or writing my thoughts out. I have learned great skills throughout my creation process of J3ssicuhsart. Patience, dedication, discipline,

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my bestfriend to my favorite pizza spot. Fellini’s pizza. We would then follow our delicious meal with a visit to the nearest park or mall. We would make a trip to the battery and enjoy a frozen cocktail from Fat Tuesday. Our evening would end with a late night meal from Waffle house. You can never go wrong with cheesy eggs.

In my view I believe doing things such as eating together, walking together, exploring new locations, playing card games, watching movies etc. are some of the most relaxing things you could do with a close friend. That is the best way to conversate and listen.

For a girls night out to the nearest dance club the go to location would be Havana. That night club has several rooms with different vibes for all people to experience in one place.

The day after a girls night out I enjoy waking up early refreshed and go sight seeing to the nearest hike or trail. The outdoors refreshes me from the chaos of a fun night. I recharge myself with nature and to do it with others who feel the same way towards our earth makes it more special.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother who is now my biggest guardian angel. She always reassured me to keep drawing, keep painting, sell paintings, create, love, support, guide etc. My mom is my battery. She keeps me going from above.

I want to thank my school teachers who helped me learn more about the things I am passionate about. Throughout the years of my personal growth in middle school and high school my favorite subject was art. I was able to express myself comfortably while enjoying every minute of it. I found my purpose thanks to my educators.

I want to thank my sister Jennifer for being my rock, always staying solid and being by my side and staying strong after our loss. You have been killing it Jennifer. Keep going! I love you!

I want to thank all of my closest friends. You guys are amazing. Each and every one of you who has helped me in any way. You have made my life easier. I see the beauty within all of you. The passion for what you love and how hard we all work for a better future. I am grateful to live in the same lifetime as you. God bless you. I love you.
