We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess N’neka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess N’neka, what role has risk played in your life or career?
You never know know the outcome of things until you take a chance and see for yourself. I am a firm believer in taking a chance if it means getting one step closer to your goals and dreams. Taking risk has played a major part in my career/business because for one I took a chance and invested in Makeup Scientist myself, I was nervous that my idea and brand wouldn’t flourish but seeing where I am now and how far I’ve come it’s truly amazing and I’m glad I pushed myself to work on executing the vision, I still find myself taking risk with new products I create and design now for my consumers. Take a chance and go for it

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Makeup Scientist is a scientific beauty brand i launched in 2020. Each product is carefully crafted and perfected to embody the art of science and makeup. My creation that I am most proud of is the Sodium Fine palette; she’s literally my first born and the star lol because of her I have been able to grow my brand with more and more products. I got to where I am today with my extensive research I started researching and preparing for Makeup Scientist in 2018 and luckily when Sodium Fine made its debut she went viral and the rest was history. In every business you’re going to always face ups and downs but the most important part of it all is staying focused and optimistic, I’ve learned to stay positive no matter what. I just want the world to know that I worked REALLY hard creating Makeup Scientist and I still work hard. I hope that my hard work can be seen through my brand

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest I’m not even sure, I just moved to this city so I don’t have staple places just yet. However I know we would have to go somewhere where it’s good seafood and drinks. I’m a seafood fanatic
