We had the good fortune of connecting with Jermaine Bruce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jermaine, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up in church as a little kid, that’s where I found my voice. Singing has always been in me and finally pursuing my dreams has be on of the best decision I ever made.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
This music journey has not been easy for me, I had to deal with lost of set backs. In 2013 after doing American Idol, my father passed away 6 months later. That’s when I step back from music. It wasn’t until 2021 that I decided to give it another shot because the people that was walking into my life at the time. I’m highly grateful for them all because I don’t think I would have ever started back. Getting back has not been the easy, I still struggle with believing until I finally reach out to my pastor 2023. The strength I have now makes me feel like I can do anything. So 2025 is about to an amazing year. New Music and New Goals. I tend to reach the hearts of anyone with a fight insofar them, to not give up on your dreams no matter what or how scary.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well here in Atlanta, I would take my bestie to get some good sushi. That’s on of my favorite things to eat. I’m not a big bar type but going bowling or to a fun amusement park would be top tier. I’m a big kid at heart to live to have a good time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Coko from SWV and a Couple by the name of KeKe and Pyramid. These are the people who gave me truly something to believe inn after I step back from music.
