We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah High and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremiah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well i’ve wanted to create my own street/workwear clothing brand for the longest time, so as far as a thought process goes, it’s been somewhat effort-less when it was always apart of my dreams. Now executing, that’s a different question. I tend to ponder over things for the longest in my process of creating because I don’t like to spend too much time during the execution of a project. I often find myself ideating over a concept until I have nothing left but to just do it, ya know? I’ve been working the ideas for Dirt Gang since 2016 and only in 2022 did I get my first sample pieces in to be completely transparent.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a work and lifestyle brand, Dirt Gang clothing is for the everyday person. It’s for those that aren’t scared to get their hands dirty or have just got it out-the-mud. Literally building whatever you are working at from the ground up and knowing that we’re in this together. One of our montras is “One Swing All Swing” because it’s us vs. the world, swing on one you’re swinging on all of us. From blue collar work, to hustling sales and closing deals, when you see someone in DG, instantly, hustle recognizes hustle and that’s what sets us apart. I may be a bit of a perfectionist so I spent a long time ruminating designs and concepts before the production process. I wanted to know as much as I could before putting anything out so I think just gaining the confidence through knowledge was my biggest hurdle thus far. Was it easy? No, but I welcomed the adversity just like anything else in life as a learning experience and that it’s all for the benefit of me building a better brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Mmm, that’s a great question. I’m gonna go ahead and start with food, I would say my mama’s house but since I can’t invite the whole city over to eat id say Poke Burri at the Battery for a sushi burrito or wings, if I’m not feeling the Asian vibe, i’d hit MamiTaco in Marietta for a little Mexican 100 percent. For drinks and entertainment you can’t go wrong on a Thursday night at Monkey Barrel off the Marietta Square being that they typically have amazing live music and great drinks for a good price as well, the foods pretty good there too. You’re bound to run into some interesting and exciting people there that’s for sure. And as far as hangouts I really enjoy going for a nice walk by the Chattahoochee river or actually even float down it, you really can’t go wrong doing that if I’m keeping it real.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off, shoutsout to my guy Chuck Nkeke. He and I go back all the way to middle school and we always were fashion heads. After high school he really put me onto a lot of dope brands and creatives. I think that played a major role in the inspiration and realization that I could actually make something of my own. He also has his own branding under “Goodgriefcont”.
