We had the good fortune of connecting with Jens Anderberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jens, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
We believe that art and personal expression lies at the center of each of our identities. The ability to create something through emotion and technique is so incredibly self fulfilling, we couldn’t see ourselves doing anything else. We’ve all been doing this since our early childhoods. It’s in our DNA and personally, I will never stop making music.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our style of music isn’t the most popular and isn’t going to pay the bills, but to be honest…. that’s never mattered to us.
We do this because we love the energy, the volume, and the people in the scene.
That being said, we all listen to wildly different styles of music and LungBurner has been the perfect outlet to bring all of our favorite “flavors” into one place.
Like anything else, it’s easy to get wrapped up in stereotypes, so for us it’s important to just shut our ears and eyes to what other people are doing and simply do what we enjoy. Our motto is, “Do what you love and others will find you.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We all have friends and family come into town on a regular basis so this is a great question!
First off, everyone has to take a trip to Centennial Park in downtown. Great food and drinks, The World of Coca-Cola, and the Aquarium. That’s a good day right there.
Other spots would have to include Little 5 Points, Buckhead, Stone Mountain, and whichever music venue you can find. So many great bands and musicians, in every style. Regardless of the style, you find amazing music in Atlanta, for sure!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of Markus Shaffer of Shadebeast productions and Dead Vibes Ensemble. He booked us for our first show and since then we’ve been close friends and peers. In fact, we wouldn’t have played AthFest this year without him.
Additionally we’d like to thank Matt Washburn from LedBelly Studios. His part in helping us create our first album was instrumental in having something to give the fans and grown our audience.
