Meet Jennifer Punch: Cake Shop Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Punch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to find something I was passionate about but would also be able to be home with my sons.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In the beginning years of starting my company, I worked extremely hard and believed that MY hard work could accomplish anything . I tried to control everything and put a lot of pressure on myself. The game changer was when I read a book called ” The Circle Maker”. It was a guide to help me see that I am not in control of anything. I surrender the company to the Lord and stopped trying to control and worry by way through everything. I cannot tell you the magnitude of what this did. My business began to grow 10 fold and we had so many opportunities that we had never had before. We even began to do film and TV which was an amazing experience. I pray over my company daily and try my best to approach all situations in a well thought out prayerful way. I also believe that we should not chose who we serve. God calls us to serving all people. So we will do a cake for a person getting married in their backyard for 20 people just as we would a person getting married at a high end venue with 300 people. They both are just as important!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the small towns of Georgia. I love the railroad tracks surrounded by the most quant buildings. We would take time to go to the following little towns and fun spots. coconut snow cones in Cartersville, Tsumani at the Marietta Square, Shopping spots in downtown Roswell, Scenic drive to Blue ridge and downtown Ballground. I just love the little General Store there with fun unique finds. For a fun city outing we would of course go to the Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Botanical Gardens!!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My team of employees deserve all the recognition. Shanae, Marea, Lea, Mary Grace, Teri, Nicki, Alyse, Emily, Staisee, Grace, Leann, Mary and Jocelyn. These ladies steer this ship!! I am just the captain! They keep it afloat!
