We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to a risk , I’m going to take it. Throughout my life I’ve had dreams , and opportunities I’ve pursued literally off a hope and prayer. After my life got flipped upside down in college I needed to try a different plan. I was not able to finish my senior year due to lack of financial support. After sitting in my devastation for a year I took a chance on school again. I went back to get a certification as an MA (medical assistant). I had no idea the journey that was ahead of me. I went from being told not to start pursuing my certification due to a troubled background to finishing with honors and being hired at a doctors office that NEVER hired any of the schools students. Talk about risk and REWARD. I can also remember my start with entrepreneurship. I joined a MLM company for $99 that turned into a 6 figure income for several years. Taking this risk offered me the opportunity to become an author , life coach and start my online boutique. These were all businesses I took a risk on have succeeded .
I’ve also taking risks on live. I coined myself the selfworth coach. I now have a thriving community for single woman where I encourage them to heal and teach them how to date with confidence. I’ve had my share of dissapointment in love . I encourage women to learn from their mistakes, take ownership , grow , but never give up on love. Fear could have held me back many times. The way you tackle fear is by facing it and taking the risk. All things work out for our good as long we keep trying.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my work as an author. I never thought I would write not one but two books. My gift of writing has helped woman all over the world find their way to or back christ , heal their hearts from trauma , and inspired them to never give up on themselves. Writing my book came easy. I wrote a blog in march of 2013 about a broken engagement I experience and the blog went viral. I knew in that instant my story wasnt about me. I knew that God was using you me even if it hurt some times. One challenge I experienced was ” what will people think” after reading my story. Now I do not care haha. The impact matters to me the most. Hearing the stories of how women walked out shame because I spoke up matters more to me than anything negative. I want the world to know my brand isnt for perfect , polished , or over critical. My brand has created a safe space for women to be themselves and grow. While some say their is a seat at the table for all , I’m really providing one.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mommy. She had been my #1 supporter in all my endeavors. Whether it was encouraging me to keep going, congratulating my success , purchasing products , or wiping my tears and reminding of my worth. She has been there every step of the way. The values she instilled in me at a very young age are the reason I’ve been able to accomplish what I have.
