We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Streck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of our brand is actually loving what we do. We have always personally loved bringing people together in our personal lives and in our community, and with owning restaurants, we get to do that on a daily basis. Another factor to success is being a problem solver. We never give up if something doesn’t work, we find a way to shift our perspective and find another way to keep moving forward.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Billy and I have been in the restaurant business since we were in our 20’s. As a kid, Billy was always in his grandfather’s restaurants, so he was already familiar with that atmosphere. For me, I was drawn to this industry because of the fun atmosphere. I started bartending because I made money while still getting to meet new people and also to hang with friends while working.

We both love to connect people, be involved in the community and bring people together, so it only made sense to own a neighborhood restaurant. We both have worked all positions in a restaurant, which has given us an understanding of how to run a business. Are there challenges? Yes. The best way we tackle them is to think outside of the box and observe and listen to what your staff has to say and how the customers are responding. The other thing is you have to be grounded in what you want to offer to the community and not let other steer you in a different direction. You have to be able to shift ideas, be creative and still carry out the vision of your concept. We have stayed in this industry because we love it. We love meeting new people, bringing together people, having a platform to give back to the community, working with local brands and just getting to be creative in the process. We keep looking forward, and that is how we continue to do what we love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We just had some friends in town that wanted to see the city. We took them to an Atlanta United game, then drinks and dinner at Hampton + Hudson. We walked the Atlanta BeltLine in the afternoon, with a pitstop at New Realm Brewery for a beer and snacks. After going to the skate park and getting King Of Pops, we ate pizza at Nina & Rafi. We went to Ponce City Market and showed them The Roof and played a few games, and then dinner at Lyla Lila.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
No one person can run a business by themselves. We are the driving force of our businesses, but we definitely want to give our management team recognition. They are the ones operating and running the show, meeting and greeting the guests, and making sure the staff is carrying out our vision for our brand.
