We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenae Cason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenae, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be a creative designer paving the way for others in the field of technology, graphic design, and outreach to the youth. I want people to remember me as a person who did and taught every skill that God has blessed me with and shared freely with others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I design, I cater my designs to my clients vision. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, my drive for perfection, and love and passion for what I do. I am most proud of my mentoring program with my interns and students and providing scholarships and start up funds to launch their businesses. Growing up with a passion to create, I was able to use my design skills when my first opportunity in college came when my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated needed a graphic designer. I started designing for my sorority and obtained other opportunities and internships within the university. Designing came naturally for me and I enjoyed creating throughout college and now professionally. Some lessons that I have learned along the way are to be open-minded, to accept constructive criticism, and time management. I want the world to know that I care about helping the youth prepare for their future in the field of design and technology. I also want them to know that I am willing to give of my time, money, and knowledge to help better prepare the youth for the challenges they face going forward.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
If my best friend was visiting in the area, I would definitely take them to a falcons game! I’m pretty adventurous and outgoing so going zip lining, top golf, horseback riding, and a good restaurant are some exciting things to do. I love going to art museums, six flags, karaoke, bowling, and to sporting events. I am always down to have a good time! Lastly, I definitely have to take my friend to Blue Ridge to enjoy the beautiful waterfall and scenery.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to give credit to God. God blessed me with many skills to bless others. Every opportunity, every client, every intern, every student has come from God. I also would like to thank my parents for supporting and encouraging me to chase my dreams and do everything that I love to do. I want to thank my pastor, Rev. Charles Nesbitt Jr. for spiritual guidance and support. Lastly, I would like to thank the educators at Albany State University for helping me to lay the foundation for my computer related skills.
