Meet Jeancarlo Gomez: Photographer | Videographer | Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeancarlo Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeancarlo, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I am a parent of three wonderful children all 5 years apart the oldest being 13 years of age. As a parent I believe one of the most important things you can teach your children about life is how to eliminate all procrastination. This is important to me because growing up in a single parent home with four other siblings, hardly seeing mother I develop a habitat of saying I was going to do something and ended up quitting. I didn’t have a parent to keep pushing me or holding me accountable because mother was always working two jobs in order to provide for us. For the last 10 years I was in the multi-family industry as a business manager. I recently resigned from that position during the pandemic to follow my dreams of owning my own successful business that could provide shelter, food, and education for my family. I founded Uno Atlanta in 2015 but procrastinated in putting the company out there because of fear of criticism from others. I had taught my children how to eliminate procrastination from everything else except through my business. 2020 has been year of breakdown, lost, and fear for many, but it has been a year where I broke the paradigms, the lies, the walls in my head that have been holding me back from pursuing and walking in the gifts that God has placed in me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Uno Atlanta’s mission is to capture special moments through the lens of a camera that tell meaningful stories, build relationships in the media industry, share, express and promote ones culture. We are more than just a company that operates in high variety of different types of photography and filming. Our vision is to create a platform/studio location that allows creatives to connect with one another for questions, help, assistances, and for customers to find all services under one roof. Whether that is space, event space, equipment rental, or services our goal is to provide it all. This is a vision that is in my heart and I am working towards making this possible in the years to come.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love food, extreme sports, and community. With food I choose authentic locations over franchise spots. For Mexican food my favorite spot is El Potro Mexican Restaurant on Buford Hwy, Chinese food I choose Hop Shing on Shallowford Rd, and for Pupusas ( El Salvadorian Food) I choose Rosita Mexican & Salvadorian Food on Hwy 78. For sporting there are many Mountain bike trails such as Fort Yargo in Winder, GA or Big Creek Park in Alpharetta, there are also many pavement trails such as the belt line in Downtown Atlanta.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and most importantly I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the path he has placed me in. Secondly my wife and family have been a big support through the struggles and successful moments to helping me financially with equipment needed. They have also played a huge role in spreading my business through word of mouth. A couple creatives that I personally know in Atlanta that have believe and always told me to keep pushing are Stevie Rodriguez, with Pushplayvideos.com, Dr. Arshley Emile, with www.timberhousefilms.com, Jack Parada, with www.jackparadaphotography.com, and Joe Dorsey, with www.dorseycreative.com. A huge support to my daily talks about life, business, family, are Felix Ramos & my blood brother Josue Gomez. They listen to my ideas and hold me accountable to what I say I will be doing. I listen to John Maxwell a lot on leadership and team development.
