We had the good fortune of connecting with JD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JD, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I feel like the end goal is mainly no more than giving people hope and spreading positivity. I always go to music with how I’m feeling at any given time. So, I feel like I got different type songs for any sort of vibe. With that being said, I feel like I got a little something for everyone. Whether you feel sad, lit, or just vibing, I feel like I got something for you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like I got a really versatile and innovative style and sound that sets me apart. And the content is all over the place from heartbreak, to addiction, to cars and money, to loss, to past experiences, all that. Connections are key in this industry and have got me a long way as an artist slowly but surely. I think the content of the songs is what drives a career though. I think people relate to the darker side of drugs I speak on and it’s something they don’t hear a lot because most people only gonna tell you the good parts. I had to overcome a lot, just like anybody, to get where I’m at and I’m glad to be in that place. I’ve learned a lot about myself, other people, and just how life and the world works. In the end I just want to leave a legacy that paints a picture that no matter how dark your tunnel is, keep going because you gonna see the light.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you going to Atlanta I’d tell you to eat at Varsity, hangout at Patchwerk and get you a bop down, visit six flags and raise hell for everybody on the ride on Goliath on that one big drop, and stay at the Hilton. There’s a lot of good people that want to help other people and have a good community, some people you need to keep your distance from, and people that ain’t bad but just leave them alone. The most fun thing to me is to go sit at an elevated area and just watch people go by.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to God, first of all, for giving me and continuing to give me everything I need to pursue this life. Also to my mom who is the biggest supporter I’ve ever had and I value the relationship we got. Also, shoutout to BLVCK of Kreative Villians for showing me how to do everything I know mixing and recording wise and being a mentor to me for my career and in part of my life. The last person I want to mention is Juice WRLD for being my biggest musical inspiration without a doubt and was the first artist to actually get me through times in life through a song, which inspired me a lot.
