We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzy Yang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazzy, what inspires you?
I am inspired by my dad. My dad was in WWE, WCW, TNA, All Japan, etc. and being able to see him on tv, going backstage at Smackdown and meeting all the divas, hearing stories and my dad bringing back gifts from all around the world made me see all the amazing things that can come from professional wrestling. And not only that but how beautiful the world is and to want to pursue something that can take me to as many places as possible. Every time I see a new place, a new state, a new culture because of wrestling, I get inspired all over again.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a professional wrestler on the independent scene. I debuted in Japan when I was 15 and was the first non-Japanese woman to be on Noah Pro Wrestling. I am trained by my dad Jimmy Yang. I do shows all around Georgia and have been to Puerto Rico, Texas, California, Nevada, New York and many more places for wrestling. Professional wrestling is very challenging, physically and mentally but it is worth all of the bumps. Also, I document my career and life as a professional wrestler on my social media pages on Instagram and TikTok so if you ever wanted to follow along on my journey, you can find it there!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting I would first take them to Paris Baguette and get croissants and matcha. Then, we would go on the silver comet trail and get a walk in and after we would go the Ponce city Market for lunch and explore. Once night hits, we would find an independent wrestling show to go to, maybe one that I’m on, most likely at the 40 watt club in Athens or Wild Wing Cafe in Alpharetta for Dynamic Wrestling Alliance for some live entertainment and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my dad Jimmy Yang who’s always has been and will be my biggest cheerleader. Also, my boyfriend Terry Yaki who is also a wrestler and always is pushing me to be the best and believing in me. My little sister, Zariya for being my bestfriend and best sister and I can’t wait to be able to take her around the world with me. Then, shoutout to romantasy books and the authors that calms my mind after crazy traveling and shows.
