We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmine Gipson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazmine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Flexibility and freedom while doing something that I enjoy. What motivated me to start my own business? Waking up to go to work for someone else while dreading doing so, unable to maximize the hours in a day that benefit me most, unable to spend time with my daughter because I’m tired, or have to work 10 hours a day was simply enough, I just decided wasn’t for me. So with the skills and tools that I had been blessed with I decided entrepreneurship would be the road that I embark on.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In fitness, wellness and health coaching the world is ever evolving, this field is science based, but with a background in science as a Pre-dental student, I have been able to grasp everything to higher degree when it comes to fitness and science, how the body works, nutrition and how the body uses food, needs food, and processes food. With this deeper understanding I am able to help my clients with their individual needs. I have been an athlete all my life until I completely stopped playing sports as an adult, then my focus became strength training. As with most I would struggle with motivation and diet, wanting to be in my best shape ever but unable to get over that threshold, I learned quickly that everyone could benefit from a coach, that accountability and structure goes a long way and that as long as you have the TOOLS that you need, you CAN succeed.
I strive to help clients with tools and knowledge that way when they do venture off they have everything that they need to be successful without me. That is what makes this job satisfying for me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta! My favorite spots are going to include some form of physical activity. Piedmont park, Roswell Mill Trail, Stone Mountain. I would take them through downtown and midtown to see the high rises, head towards buckhead for brunch at south city kitchen, dinner at little alley steakhouse, The battery is a nice family friendly area for folks to eat, drink and experience social life here in the Atlanta area.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The man above. My family for being supportive. My fitness friends and community here in Atlanta who consistently keep me on my toes and challenge me to become better every day. Last but not least Shoutout to FINAO gym!
