Meet Jazmine Ellis | League Director & Director of Operations

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmine Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazmine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea came to me in the midst of 2020; my cousin and I discussed how there wasn’t a recreational space for kids who play golf to showcase their hard work, build friendships, and truly play for fun. As we reflected on the limited opportunities for young golfers outside of competitive settings, we realized that many children were missing out on developing their skills in a supportive and enjoyable environment. We envisioned a space where youth could sharpen their golf abilities, connect with peers, gain confidence, and foster a genuine love for the game. This conversation sparked the creation of a nonprofit youth golf organization that now provides clinics, camps, and tournaments to build a vibrant and inclusive golf community for youth aged 6-17.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a dynamic journey centered around youth development, sports management, and creating opportunities for young athletes to thrive. I’ve had the privilege of working with multiple esteemed organizations, including i9 Sports, AEBL Pro-Am League, and Excel Youth Academy, where I managed youth sports programs, leagues, and camps while ensuring a positive and safe environment for participants. Through these experiences, I developed strong expertise in program operations, game management, and fostering relationships with parents, coaches, and community partners. These roles taught me the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and the power of sports in shaping the confidence and character of young people.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, we’d start the Morning: Enjoy a peaceful morning at Piedmont Park, followed by a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
Lunch: Explore Ponce City Market for shopping, rooftop views, and cool photo ops.
Afternoon: Midday NAP! Lol, it will be needed!
Evening: Dance the night away at Whiskey Mistress or vibe at Revel for a fun girls’ night out.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Eric’s expertise in marketing and spreading the word helped significantly expand our reach. At the same time, Shelton’s passion and commitment to the sport ensured that we maintained a high standard of coaching and mentorship. From promoting the league to helping with logistics and community outreach, they have been involved in every aspect of its success. Their efforts have helped increase participation and created a positive and enriching environment where young golfers can thrive and build lasting connections.
I want to give a special shoutout to Rachelle Houston, Founder of Excel Youth Academy (@excelyouthacademy). She has been a Godsend, providing invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout my journey. Her support allowed me to step into a leadership role as the Director of Operations for my nonprofit youth golf organization. I now oversee golf clinics, camps, and tournaments for youth ages 6-17. Rachelle’s influence has played a significant role in helping me grow as a leader and make a lasting impact on the youth in my community.
A huge thank you also goes out to the many volunteers, dedicated parents, and, most importantly, the amazing youth golfers. Your passion, hard work, and enthusiasm make everything we do possible.
