We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaz Milli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaz, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
One thing about the entrepreneurial industry that outsiders may be unaware of is that work is needed to be put in. Often times entreprenuers are looked at as people who do not work. It is a popular misconception and in reality, in order to make our dreams reality, work has to be put in. Who would get the job done other than you, especially when most entrepreneurs do most of the work alone for the first couple of years before getting a team.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my brand after dropping out of college. I had been kicked out twice and decided to come home and do something that would make me happy and I never looked back.
What sets me apart from others is my empowerment. I not only sell hair, I empower the women who shop with me. Making them feel good, & have a pleasent experience. Going above and beyond with my customer service to please my clients. It’s not just hair, it’s a lifestyle.
I got to where I am today business-wise by staying consistent & having faith. Even when I go days without making money or slow and stagnant seasons, it gets tough, but I remember the vision and the reason why I started & that helps me to keep going. I overcome my challenges by staying in faith. Tapping in with my higher self to remember my purpose and my why.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to take your time, rushing is not necessary. We all cannot win at the same time. Consistency is key, and show up for your brand at all times. You are your biggest supporter, believe in yourself,
I want the world to know that you can rebuild your life at anytime. I am a college dropout and I never gave up on myself. I knew my life was not over just because I did not take the traditional route. I followed my intuition and it lead me into greatness. I’ve been down, broke and lost but when you make the decision to show up for yourself, God will always meet you halfway. I started a brand, lost money, got no support but consistency, lessons and faith is what got me through and here today. I want the world to know that following your dreams will bring you the freedom you desire. You won’t know until you try.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My bestfriend and I are alike, I would take her to a candle making class, spiritual store, shopping and out for good eats. Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead are all filled with fun spots and nice scenery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to those who genuinely support me. I wouldn’t be far in business if it wasn’t for the people who shop my brand. I also would like to thank my supportive friends, my bestfriend who keeps me grounded & my family who genuinely wants to see me win. They keep me going.
