Meet Jay Wilson: Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jay, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I quit my job 3 years ago in hopes of becoming a full-time entrepreneur. I had no money saved up no clear plan of how it was going to work. I just put my trust in God and kept working. Its almost like immediately after I had quit, my phone started ringing more and more. Also I got in the streets and started networking as much as I could. So taking risks has become a part of me because you’ll never know the outcome if you don’t try.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I do Graphic Design, Photography and Motion Graphics. Id say what sets me apart from others the most are my motion graphics, that’s what Im most known for today. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am because you have to sacrifice a lot. Ive sacrificed a lot of time with my family to make sure they are straight. It’s a never ending game its always something to learn about graphic design 10+ years in I’m still learning. Biggest lesson Ive learned is to truly never give up Ive stayed at it and continue to level up every year I work and its a blessing. Only focus I have when it comes to my brand is QUALITY. I feel that’s most important, you have the power to create how other companies/brands are presented to the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Id probably take them on a work run do a few photoshoots, Shoot some videos, maybe see if I can pull up on one of their favorite artists. Im pretty simple. Definitely would have to hit Ginos on Cheshire Bridge Rd for some of the best pizza in the city lol.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely My wife (@iamleycole) she’s held down the fort since day day while I travel and work on projects non stop! Also definitely would like to shoutout Toni (@kyrowolf) of @KyroInk Ive been motivated and inspired by his graphic design skills since I started. He’s definitely responsible for how I approach graphic design still today. And shoutout everyone that looks up to me and constantly keep me going with encouragement and love!
