We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasper Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasper, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When I began my career I had no idea the path I was going to take to get to where I am now. At a young age, I had a strong desire for the beauty industry. From hair to makeup to skincare. I had a dream of working in the Spa and making people feel good. After graduating high school my dream changed and I attend cosmetology school at Empire, Morrow, graduated 3 months early and started working in the hair salon. Unfortunately, when I came into the real environment of the hair industry I lost my passion for it. In the beginning stages of starting adulthood, I was looking for a way to still do what I love without losing my ambition for beauty. I was introduced to the fashion industry from a networking event in Atlanta, Georgia, and began traveling working backstage at shows and events. As a behind-the-scenes makeup artist, I met so many creative people from models, designers, painters, singers, beauty influencers and the list goes on. After a trip to New York, I envisioned starting a magazine company. I wanted to give people who aren’t often highlighted a platform to express their stories and expose their brands. In addition to the magazine company, I started my custom wig line the very same year (2018). Although the salon environment isn’t for me I still enjoy hair and I still travel and provide makeup services.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other businesses is I like to work and see everyone on my team grow. If they are struggling with something I make an investment towards teaching them how to better themselves within their skills. I’m a strong believer that an empire can not survive if there is a weak link. I’m extremely proud of how far I’ve held on to my passion. I thought for a minute that I would be stuck in my career after I left the salon. I’m confident and excited about the future for me and my brands. My journey thus far has been a challenge but I also go back to why I started in the first place before I just give up. I’ve learned a lot about patience over the years. I want to be remembered as an ambitious woman.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
New York City of course! I would take them EVERYWHERE in New York. lol. We’d first have to visit Time Square for all the entertainment and eat at the famous Dallas BBQ. Then take a trip to Manhattan for a shopping spree. And it’s a must we take a boat tour under the Brooklyn Bridge. Can’t forget visiting Staten Island. I haven’t even seen ALL of New York but I would definitely take them there to visit and explore just for fun.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to the APN (Atlanta Photography Network) for introducing me to the fashion industry when I first started.
