We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Suber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Being in the service industry, it requires you to look good at all times. I love hair and makeup and getting dolled up, so that was never an issue for me. Searching for beauty products was a long process and definitely put a dent in my pocket. I love keeping myself up! So I thought, could I find my own source and create a one stop shop to get all things beauty related? I was also in a position where I felt like I could no longer continue to work extra hard for another company and not obtain my own with the same work ethic. It was time to boss up.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Lash Tech in Atlanta. I currently also provide hair extensions, lash extensions and beauty cosmetics. I provide a service and products for service. With a lot of research and practice I am perfecting my craft and expanding my products and services. This has been a long, arduous journey. Producing a service is not as simple as it seems. You’re providing a service that is so intricate it has to be perfected. Initially it was a very stressful task for me, however now that I have developed my technique, it relaxes me. It took me about a year to become fully comfortable and in my element. I kept pushing at this task and didn’t not give up. It is important to have a strong support system who also believes in your dream. Stay in positive environments and surround yourself with positive people. I want people to know that running their own business is attainable and you can do what you love while making a living. Just have faith and keep pushing no matter what obstacles you may face.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this city. Atlanta is very progressive and I love the culture here. I believe the most interesting place in Atlanta is the belt line. There’s food, music, drinks, parks, activities you name it, it’s there. It’s a place where people can truly be themselves without any judgment. I also like low key vibe spots. Ms. Icey’s is a hidden, lovely brunch spot I like to frequent. Good food, good energy. Moreover, nice upscale hookah spots are my favorite as well when I would like to have a chill vibe experience. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my circle and support system through this whole journey. My mom and siblings and close circle of boss women who support and uplift each other’s businesses. I’m surrounded by strong business minded women who want to see each other win and be the best versions of themselves. It motivates me to keep going and to not give up. Busy most importantly, that I am not in this alone and that they have my back.
