We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was really focused on finding a way to help others. I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to deal with challenges and hardship alone. I wanted everyone to know there is a village out here that will support and help them. My entire thought process for my business behind my business is helping others.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is Marie’s Village. Marie’s Village is a non-profit organization created to support women in our local community. The mission of Marie’s Village is to become a support system that provides resources to women in need by collaborating with community partners to provide physical resources, educational programs, counseling, and awareness to common challenges faced by women. Marie’s Village promotes safety, dignity, holistic health, and happiness for all women no matter their age, race, or beliefs. Currently, there are 3 programs within Marie’s Village. The programs are Domestic Violence Support, Teen Hope, and Community Support Programs.
I am most proud of the work that we do to support women in current domestic violence situations and domestic violence survivors. We really strive to help women in those situation with resources and the importance of loving themselves.
The biggest thing I want the world to know about Marie’s Village is that we are genuinely here to help, support, and be the village pushing you to greatness.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I honestly probably would not go many places. I love grilling out so we would have a cookout on one of those days. Maybe go to the park if the weather is nice. For the weekend, we could drive to a beach in the area and enjoy the sand on our toes. My goal would be to spend as much quality time with my best friend.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to a dear friend of mine named Christina. Christina’s legacy is the reason Marie’s Village was created. She was an amazing mother, friend, sister and daughter that has touched so many peoples’ lives, including mine.
