Meet Jasmine Kilgore | Health & Wellness Coach | Barbershop Consultant | QuadSkater

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Kilgore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I initially chose this question thinking that I had the answer already figured out but the more that I tried to get the words to say it I realized it’s not as simple as it seems. In simplest terms success is defined as the correct or desired result of an attempt but I’d disagree. So many times we plan things out and have an idea of what our “desired result” is but as events unfold, what if we don’t get the results that we were hoping for? Does that automatically equate to failure? What if the unexpected results instead take you a couple of steps back but open your mind and eyes to a new perspective, is that failure? This is something that I’ve struggled with for years, I would have it all figured out, or so I thought, and when I didn’t get the result I had hoped for I felt like I wasn’t successful. It wasn’t until I changed my perspective. Instead of planning for a specific outcome and then being let down if I didn’t achieve it, I now have a new way of thinking. Instead, I define success by being intentional with everything that I do and making sure that my intentions are pure, no matter the outcome I know that my results are pure because my intentions were pure and whatever that outcome is, I look to see how I can use that to continuously evolve.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love being a health & wellness coach, most of my clients either know me personally or have watched my own journey on social media. It was something very out of the norm for me as I am naturally a very private person but I wanted to actually hold myself accountable so I took my followers on the journey with me. I had no idea that me making the decision to get healthy would turn into a revenue stream for me but that’s not what gets me most excited about what I do. I always encourage my clients to take photos, that’s the only way you’ll truly be able to track your progress, so when I wake up to random progress photos or texts/calls letting me know that they completed a workout for the first time or were able to fit a dress they thought they were going to have to give away fills my heart with so much joy and that’s what keeps me going. This is bigger than a business to me, I’m creating a family, forming a bond, and taking on your journey with you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is going to be tough because my friends know I rather travel than to go out in the city and we’re all pretty simply lol but if I had to choose here’s a list
1. Kuroshio
2. The Beltline
3. The Botanical Garden
4. High Museum of Art
5. Piedmont Park
6. Slutty Vegan
7. Fade + Facet
8. Chateau Elan
9. Sparkles Smyrna
10. Stone Mountain

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout Kayla Moultrie, what began as me just wanting to try and get back healthy I found a mentor and someone I’m proud to call a sister. I don’t think she realized just how deep of an impact that she’s had on my mental health and just changing the way that I look at life, I was in such a dark space before I really got the chance to know her. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart, you truly changed my life!
