We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Hoffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
There was very little thought process going into my business. I just literally fell into my lap. What started as a silly post on Facebook turned into a full fledged business! My daughter and I two years ago were making cookies, like I use to with my grandmother. Roll out sugar cookies with a simple glaze icing! We made unicorns, extremely ugly unicorns. Although I was trying my absolute hardest on them, but they were not pretty. I posted those cookies on my Facebook, and said “book me for your parties 😅”. That same night I had someone ask me if I could make Elmo cookies for their sons first birthday. I’ve always been a bit of a crafty entrepreneur, so of course I said “Absolutely”. From that moment Frosted Dough Cookie Company was born! No idea what I was doing, but I dove right in!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud about the fact that I’m self taught. In the last two years I have taught myself everything I know about cookie decorating. I have no baking back ground! This is pure research and dedication. I have experienced MANY trial and errors in the last two years. To me that’s the best part about owning your own small business you can let those errors shut you down or you can use them as stepping stones in your foundation, and let them build you stronger.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well if I’m going to answer this question honestly I have no clue! I’m more of a go with the flow type of girl. Being a mom of two little ones you get use to going with flow. I do know that we would be getting dressed up and find trendy places to take pictures at. Roof top bars are on my list of to do’s. I’m a foodie so we have to explore the hidden gems Atlanta has to offer. We would absolutely have to hit up the Battery for drinks, and a late night escape room!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Success of Frosted Dough Cookie Co. simply comes from my social media community. They have supported and encouraged me for the last two years. Each and every order I receive has pushed me to grow. I’m constantly searching for new techniques, opportunities, recipes, social media marketing, and so much more to keep my small business alive! To my customers you guys are amazing thank you for ordering and continuing to order holiday after holiday. To my family thank you for putting up with my late nights and aftermath cookie messes!
