We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Hawkins & Crystal Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine & Crystal, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Becoming Her Magazine is a catalyst for change, especially for women on their journey to becoming the best versions of themselves. Through empowering stories and advice, our magazine not only inspires personal growth but also champions the idea of women embracing their unique paths. By highlighting these transformative journeys, Becoming Her Magazine contributes to a collective narrative of strength, resilience, and self-discovery, fostering a community where women uplift and empower one another.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets Becoming Her Magazine apart is our genuine dedication to uplifting women on their unique paths. We’re proud of the real stories, diverse voices, and the celebration of personal growth that define us. The journey to where we are today wasn’t all smooth sailing, but the challenges fueled our resilience and determination.

Professionally, it’s been a rollercoaster, filled with lessons about adaptability, staying true to our mission, and turning obstacles into stepping stones. Becoming Her Magazine is more than a brand; it’s a community built on authenticity and inclusivity. We want the world to see us as a space that embraces and empowers, celebrating the richness of every woman’s journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Start your day with a cozy breakfast at West Egg Café – their Southern-inspired dishes are a must. Dive into local culture at Sweet Auburn Curb Market for a unique lunch experience at The Varsity, famous for its chili dogs.

Afternoons are perfect for exploring the High Museum of Art or wandering through the artsy streets of Little Five Points. For a classy dinner, indulge at Bacchanalia.

As the sun sets, soak in the nightlife at The Battery Atlanta or explore the lively Ponce City Market. Sports enthusiasts can catch a game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our mothers (Charlene Jordan and Janet Bynum), Crystal’s dad, our children (Mario Hawkins III, Phoebe Hawkins, Jason Hawkins, Sophia Hawkins and Zachariah Heard), and a special shoutout to Jasmine’s husband, Mario. Their unwavering support keeps us focused and propels us toward continued greatness and success with Becoming Her Magazine. We also want to give God all the glory and recognition. Without His guidance, the connection between Crystal and I (Jasmine), and the inspiration for Becoming Her Magazine, this journey wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you to our loved ones and God for shaping our path.
