Meet Jasmin Long | Master Stylist and Luxury Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmin Long and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business and brand was about me changing the dynamic of what shopping experiences are like for women. I wanted to start a brand that catered to women’s self esteem, femininity, and fashion sense. I have realized how much looking good contributes to feeling good for women. Being able to assist women in discovering things about themselves and their confidence level through fashion is a beautiful journey to be apart of with our clients.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The way I have been able to get to where I am today in my career is being consistent and staying focused on the bigger picture. The bigger picture is changing how black owned businesses are created, operated, and perceived by the world: I may not become a national brand but I know and understand that my talent and creativity has had the ability the enlighten many people on unique concepts and creativity. As I have had the opportunity to pivot upward during this process, I learn how important it is to stay on course. There’s a lot of things that will distract you and make you question why you are doing what you do and if you should keep going. However, I have learned to let those things motivate me to keep going. As a black owned business I have learned there’s so many adversities and rewards that come with stepping into entrepreneurship. One of the biggest challenges that I have had to experience recently is racism and prejudices against black owned businesses. Running a business requires you to understand the realities that exist in the world we live in. Meaning, black owned business are still not respected as they should be and they are not received with welcoming arms. Racism and prejudices are very prevalent in entrepreneurship and black owned businesses. You have to learn how to master your craft and not allow things intended to destroy you to trick you out of your purpose. For me, I pray daily and ask God to give my business the platform and the continuous opportunity to serve people with integrity and class. What I want the world to know about my brand is that black women are thriving in their greatness and we are not letting up! We are no longer allowing rules or what is deemed as “acceptable” stop us from representing what the essence of beauty and greatness looks like. My brand is not just for black women. It is for women I’m general. Fashion has no race and it has no color. I devoted my time nurturing women and helping them understand the importance of finding styles and looks that make them feel like they are the most beautiful woman in the world. We also encourage women to embrace and embody flaws. Flaws shouldn’t been seen as something “not flattering or beautiful” Flaws are inevitable, and we all have them.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course the first stop would be at The Style Muse Bartique to have the best shopping experience so the wardrobe is on point. Then we would enjoy a nice day of relaxation and eating at The Avalon in Alpharetta. Maybe catching a daytime movie at the Studio Movie grill. We would go to Halcyon for some good eating at “The Original Hot Dog Factory” for a nice up north hot dog experience ( my favorite place) Go to Treat Your Feet for a nice massage. Maybe a R&B night at Red Martini, then we have to take a day of rest because we aren’t spring chickens! Lol But we would probably
finish the weekend with brunch and a day time vibe at Garden Parc. And of course church on Sunday!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would give a HUGE shoutout to my family and friends that have supported me along my journey. They have extended themselves on countless occasions to assist me during times of adversity and moments where I needed physical support. I want to give my husband and my son credit for believing in me and always being my BIGGEST cheerleaders throughout this journey. They are always rooting for me and holding me down no matter how difficult thing seems to get for me. Every twist and turn my family moves gracefully with me. My husband and son have always been right by my side for every step I’ve taken on this ladder. I am very appreciative of my loyal Muse Babes! To every single customer that has ever patronized and supported my business, I appreciate you from the depths of my heart. You guys are the reason why quitting is never an option. You all have made me understand the assignment is so much bigger than me time after time. I am grateful to have met every site customer I’ve had the opportunity to encounter. I have so much gratitude for everyone who has been along side me these past few years. You are loved.
