We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmin , kanisha Brown , gudger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmin , kanisha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success and brand is to be able to give back to the less fortunate we haven’t always had it to give and growing up there were times we struggled to eat because of the big families we grew up in. Food has always been expensive and Providing a affordable dinnery for everyday people who just want a home cooked meal and not have to pay a arm and a leg , THATS MY GOAL . To not only have a restaurant , but to have food trucks that catered to feeding the homeless , a lot of times the homeless people only get hot meals durning holidays and i want to change that , i want to be able to provide delicious home cooked meals not only on holidays but throughout the year i would hate to loose it all today and the only time i get a home cooked meal is durning the holidays that’s why the success of my brand is so important to me being able to give back and do more good in this world is love , we are spreading love through our meals .
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are 2 wives who love cooking in the kitchen together , we recently picked up and moved to atl 5 months ago, i worked for the government for almost 5 years before i decided i was tired of working for somebody else putting in all these hours to help some one else brand grow all while putting my dreams aside. One day i literally woke up and told my wife i wanted to cook and take dinners to work she didn’t hesitate in helping WE GOT STRAIGHT TO WORK! ii finally felt a passion for something i was so excited to go to work now just to feed my co workers . Buisness started growing fast and after a few months i was now getting catering offers outside of work , I was ready to quit and go bigger , business was good at work but it came with some challenges, management wasn’t very thrilled with me selling dinners at work so they began to make it extremely difficult for me , after a month or so i decided to quit my government job and put all my time and effort in growing my own business. My wife has been there every step of the way she is a nature born cook we both prepare the meals in the kitchen together , she loves cooking just as much as i do we even have our 11 year old son helping us as well. Our goal is to be able to have affordable meals for every day people , not only that but to have food trucks around the city that catered to feeding the homeless . We want to spread love through our meals . Most homeless people don’t get hot meals unless it’s a holiday i want to change that . To be able to feed the less fortunate not only durning holidays but through the year as well . My business isn’t successful until I’m able to give back that is my main goal
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m still new to the city so I’m still trying to find the hidden gems . I would take my best friend to the river close by my house it very peaceful and has a beautiful scenery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our son Donte , he is 11 years old and has been the motivation and push for us , he helps out a lot with coming up with ideas and recipes he our little co-chef . So shout out to him for being amazing and the best taste tester ..
