Meet Janika Maria Williams | Owner and Founder of Astrologyslore, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Janika Maria Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janika Maria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I birthed Astrologyslore from a passionate hobby and a genuine love of Astrologyslore and Tarot. After the untimely death of my mother in April 2020, I decided to start an astrology page on Instagram to help me work through my grief. The page naturally took off, and the rest is history!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I got to where I am today business-wise because of my positive mentality and my incredible work ethic. It has never been an easy journey for me. I was never taught financial literacy. Everything that I’m learning is self taught, because I did not come from wealth. What has helped me to overcome the challenges in life is my vision, my incredible faith in my spiritual team, and the determination to never give up! What I want the world to know about me and my story is that it does not matter where you come from. It only matters where you are going in life! My brand is built around connection and empathy. Without that, there would be no Astrologyslore.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a BIG FOODIE (lol) we would have to check out the best spots in the city. One of my favorite places includes The Slutty Vegan. Sammy’s Cheesecakes also has the BEST DESSERT!! For hangout ideas, we would attend poetry nights, art museums, and sip and paints. The most perfect events are the ones that nurture creativity!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my amazing wife, Tesia for assisting me in my spiritual journey! Her support means the world. Also, shoutout to my phenomenal siblings for always supporting my business and rooting me on!
