We had the good fortune of connecting with Jani Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jani, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“ No matter what haspens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thes 5:18 “ I have this scripture tattooed on me because I been through a lot of pain & hard times & struggles, but at the end of every single day, I thank God I’m not dead or in jail!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Whether it is music, cooking or painting, every single form of art that I create comes from my heart. It all has some type of meaning or inspiration behind it. I’m most proud of myself, and I thank God for allowing me to make it this far in life. Taking care of literally every single thing on my own with God’s help over the past year without a support system. I honestly didn’t think I would still be here and let alone be where I’m at today. I’m living in my own place, have a my own car and a businesses that are continuously thriving. It was nowhere near easy but it wasn’t hard either. There were a lot of challenges; nothing is “hard” unless you make it hard. I overcame these challenges by staying consistent, praying everyday, staying dedicated and true to myself. I learned a lot of lessons, but one of the biggest lessons is to put yourself first, because at the end of the day when it’s your turn to leave this world it’s going to be just you in that casket. I want the world to know that God is real, and that I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. Getting shot multiple times at once, and actually dying but still being here today to tell my story is a huge testimony that I want the world to know. As well as, being alone and literally not having any family to reach out to or that would even reach back, having to do every single thing on my own and figure every single thing out on my own, was a huge struggle, however I overcame it even when my family or I myself didn’t think that I would. I still did, by the Grace, Glory and help from God.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first place I would take them is DownTown Atlanta, but in the heart of the city. We would visit Little Five Points, as well as my hometown Lovejoy, Georgia. I would take them to The Battery to show off The Braves and the good food. There are a lot of great restaurants in Atlanta, but specifically I would take them to Sweet and Fresh, Scotch Bonnet Jamaican, Touchdown Wings on MLK, Mister Everything, and last but definitely not least Slutty Vegan. Places to do things would be an R&B Lounge, Puttshack, and an escape room

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My two friends Daro & Ced who got me to come back out the house and step out my shell & really start back networking. Because after I got shot & died back in 2018, I was too paranoid to even go back to clubs or events Or longues. Until late last year 2022, thanks to Ced who gave me a real advice to step back out & face my fear and just trust that God is always with me! As well thanks to Daro for connecting me to a lot of great genuine passionate people and just for him, himself being the great genuine person he is to me!
