Meet Janeen Brown: Serial Entrepreneur – CEO of Balloon Haus

We had the good fortune of connecting with Janeen Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janeen, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
My mindset change – as a person who wasn’t raised by Entrepreneurs or surrounded by many, I had to rid any negative thoughts I had regarding my future. I could no longer sit when things weren’t going right, I had to figure out how do I move forward in a positive manner. How do I build our clientele, reminding myself that I cannot fail – that didn’t exist. My thought patterns changed, whom I surrounded myself with changed and more. Waking up in the morning and telling myself that with or without support, I was going to move forward and make it. Having a positive mindset is crucial to being an entrepreneur because things will get tough;.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Funny enough, whenever anyone asks me what type of business do I owe and I say, “a balloon store,” they always ask me to repeat myself as who would ever think balloons could become such a big business. Well, I got news for everyone – it’s definitely one of the best businesses when it comes to a high ROI. Balloon Haus originated out of Toronto, Canada from a request from a client from one of my other businesses to where we are now. Balloon Haus is one of the leading luxury, modern and bespoke balloon styling and delivery companies in South Florida and the Greater Atlanta area. To date, I’ve had four different locations we were working out of but are now down to two. – 1) due to covid 2) our staff weren’t as on the ball as I would’ve love for them to be which resulted in the decision to close shop as it was impacting our reviews. I learned in order to have a successful business, you need to ensure your team is efficient and trained well to make sure your customers are happy. Aside from running Balloon Haus, I have multiple other ventures currently on the go so it’s been much busier for me this last year than most. Balloon Haus, I’ve been lucky enough to have staff that know their job inside, out. It has definitely been quite a journey in the last four years as I’ve learned A LOT of lessons pertaining to customer service, the importance of having a system from the beginning of the customer journey to now. Balloon Haus is still perfecting our craft daily but I believe my team has really worked towards being one of the best Balloons are here to stay and you should always make sure your party looks picture perfect.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, considering I’m a homebody – I don’t go out much however, when I do hit the town, I make sure I’m visiting some of the best spots in the city. Agency Socialtheque – the food is great and the ambiance is even better Breakfast at Barneys – Perfect Brunch spot with the best music Cafe Sunflower – I’m Vegan so the options are endless here Botanical Gardens – Such a cute date spot especially during the Christmas Season High Museum of Art – is great for those who are art fans Buckhead Club – highly recommended for working and meeting new people and the list goes on but as Atlanta is one of the best cities to really enjoy 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father is most definitely my number one supporter, if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be able to get to where I am today. Whenever I had an idea, he was behind it 100% whether he understood it or not. He was the closest thing to a mentor for me, and definitely one of the smartest people that I know. That is the one person in the world that can get anything from me!
