Meet Jamilah Dukes | Wellness Advocate and Personality Behavior Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamilah Dukes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamilah, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One aspect of the wellness industry that outsiders might not be fully aware of is its susceptibility to trends and marketing-driven narratives. While the industry promotes health, wellness, balance, and overall healthy well-being, it often undergoes shifts based on popular trends and consumer perceptions. It can also be criticized by religious groups background rather than solely on scientific evidence. Which make the value and benefits of the services provide in the wellness industry to not be properly explored by individual’s. Many of these services and practices are life changing and should be explored and tailored to you. They should not be subjected to the popularity, but to the benefits they can supply to your overall well being. I suggest you don’t follow trends find what works for you and explore different aspects of wellness. The services that myself and team/partners offer are life changing services that can and will enhance your wellbeing when practiced and introduced properly in your life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets The S.o.u.l Market apart from other businesses in our industry is that our goal is to Spread Our Universal Love through the exposure and understanding of the Pillars of Wellness. Collaborating with other health and wellness professionals to collectively bring innovative and sacred wellness service and products to our community and youth. The collaboration of businesses and services is what sets us apart. We believe in collaboration to build out network. Together we can expand and expose all of our gifts, skills and talents to expand our territories. The services that we provide are available to our clients collectively and individually to explore the different service and products.
I am most proud of my personal drive and determination to create new innovative ways to explore wellness. Which lead me to being the 1st African American female in Augusta, Georgia to offer the City of Augusta their 1st Corporate Wellness program which was the Mental Health Awareness Movement for all of the 2900 employees of the municipality. Being a trendsetter in bringing yoga and meditation into Richmond County School system with a cool innovative twist Silent Headphone Yoga & Soundbath Meditation with Safe Touch therapy which turned out to be a hit with the students.
It was a journey to get to were I am today, but I got here by being consistent and obedient to God’s direction for my business which had pivoted multiple times with our core values still being providing wellness. It has not been easy walking away from my Corporate America job to pursue my dreams. I knew I would face many adversities and sacrifices to accomplish my mission. Entrepreneurship is a great teacher of your faith in so many ways, but I knew I was build to face any adversities because I am not alone God has my back, front, and side along with the guidance and protection of my ancestors. Failure is no a option my purpose is attached to others and Zi won’t let them down.
The lessons I have learned along the way is to always believe in myself and the vision that God has given me and to persevere through any resistance that the world throws at me that seems to be a adversity. Another major lesson I have learned is to only partner with people that see my vision and want to grow beside me as a collective to enrich and empower the people we are chosen to serve. If not the partnership will not survive and it will tamper with the growth of the business. It is so much I have learned while being a business owner. Entrepreneurship has been on of my greatest teachers. Pushing me beyond my limits to learning and exploring skills and talents that I had no clue I was capable of achieving.
What I want the world to know is that The S.o.u.l Market was created with it in mind to enhance the lives of God’s people which is all of mankind no matter your color, creed or sexuality, Spreading Our Universal Love S.o.u.l through collaborating with some of the most amazing healers and people on the planet. The S.o.u.l Market is shifting and evolving daily with the core intention to serve the people with dope creative innovative ways to experience and explore wellness.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My absolute favorite place in Augusta is Humanitree House which is a Vegan Juice bar and a Art Gallery own by Denise and Baruti Tucker that would be our first stop. Then I would most definitely take them to the Savannah Rapids for a beautiful scennic walk in nature . It has a beautiful water fall and is a hidden gem here in our area that some locals don’t even know. about. We would also have to hit up Oak Lounge on Monday to catch the vibes have a drink and eat crabs. I love crabs legs they are one of my favorites. Then off to just walk downtown Augusta which is progressively growing to check out all the new and existing businesses to see what products and services they have and last, but not least we would to go to Sirius Sage to get some spiritual candle, sage, incense, books, crystals and etc. Tuesday we would hit the movies up and go from movie to movie chilling. I am pretty simple so these are the things I would do with my bestie.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this Shoutout to my team/partners that believe in me and my vision without them I could not fulfill my task/vision. So shoutout to one of the most amazing team of healers in the world Taranda Wilson (sound healing practitioner), Rochelle Powers, Crystal Starr Powers, and Karin Bush ( Yoga instructors), Shawnda Stovall, Messcina Scott, Marie Smalls, Kristen Luke, Anjelica Rosario ( massage therapists) and our phenomenal DJ Delvin Davis and I can’t forget my therapist Mrs. Rookamah Goldston of Israel/Atlanta that keeps me grounded and focused when I am out of alignment. I love you all so very much and I appreciate all that you have poured into me by supporting my dreams.
