Meet James Davis | co owner at the vault 309 recording and production studio


We had the good fortune of connecting with James Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My passion for music started at a young age while I was in foster care and being a ADHD child I used music as my focus to ground me
 
 
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’ve been doing music 20 years.ive traveled all over because of my craft for music. I’ve learned that your goals and drive can only be accomplished through consistency and working along with like minded individuals My brand started out as A really energetic duo called Amped Up Ent founded in Altanta Georgia and brought to reality in Illinois all the experiences and interactions led to me coming together with my business partner Dan Johnson at the Vault 309 recording and production studio. I’ve done music with names like Jelly Roll Lil Wyte Glasses Malone Crunchy Black of 3 6 mafia young buck yukmouth Stevie stone and Krizz Kalico and a list of other industry artist I’ve produced for a large number of artist and helped them launch there own personal careers
 
 
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely have to hit a cubs game lol or Chicago bulls game as far as sports go….. I would take them to a new place to eat everyday give them a real food experience we would step out to the night clubs I would give him an idea of the local music scene I would give them a history lesson on everything Richard Pryor seeing how we would be in his birth town

my old partner Karl Downs aka DJ Killa K the Midwest Mixtape King
He lost his battle with cancer in 2019
