We had the good fortune of connecting with JaMarius T. Jelks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JaMarius T., how do you think about risk?
At the beginning I was nervous about making any type of investment because I didn’t see that growing up. Also my environment played a major part in my “common knowledge” of how to survive. However once I moved to Saint Louis, MO away from my family and Decatur I realized that I had to take care of myself. So I would have to risk/ sacrifice certain things in my life so I could obtain more and also be a help to others. Financial freedom is also a “real thing” up until 2018 I wasn’t making any money that I could invest, it was more about survival and graduating college. But I learned how most people learn once they graduate or have that safety net underneath them. The world is cold and cruel sometimes. But you have to invest your time, money, and energy the right way to understand the risk you are willing to take. The point where I realized I wanted more was when I became a job trainer/life coach and trained out of school youth ages 16-24. We watched Eric Thomas motivational videos on YouTube. And he said a lot of powerful things. But when he talked about how much time we have in a day and how we decide to use it is predicated on how we build our foundations. After watching those videos I decided to take my first financial risk and buy 3 LLC’s. (WineHouse Enterprise, WineHouseCreations, and #WeJustLivin). The last company #WeJustLivin is where I saw my risks develop into accolades and rewards. Through my risks I was able to create a lifestyle for people to be their genuine self, be more self sufficient, aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and courage to start or pick up their own businesses.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Welcome to the #WeJustLivin Lifestyle Brand. I created this movement at one of the lowest moments of my life and I felt I was living a life that everybody wanted me to live. So I had to find out what worked best for me and how I could be authentic in my decision making and being an inspiration to my audience. So I created #WeJustLivin and it’s simply you becoming more self aware, self sufficient, and knowing your worth. But most of all you learning to enjoy who you are and the others around you. It’s so many lessons I learned along the way and still learning. But what myself taught me is that I’m all I need. If nobody else buys my merchandise it’s fine. I’ll still rock it everyday no matter what! I am a walking billboard of whatever I’m trying to sell.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, most of my friends think I lit lol and I actually like being in the house. But if we are visiting a city. We would have to find some great food so boogalou for the brunch no cap! We’d go drinking at Club South Beach, we’d have to go hop on some lime scooters and just go site seeing after that or maybe a strip club Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
