We had the good fortune of connecting with Ja’marius Leaphart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ja’marius, why did you pursue a creative career?
Being a creative means more than just posting good stuff on social media. It means living a life where everything could be turned into content. I pursued this career because I have been through a lot and my only goal is to use my story and the wisdom I gained to motivate others to keep going no matter what life throws at them. In this day and age a lot of content creators or public figures use their platform to bully others or push their hidden agendas. In a society where that is present, I just want to be a light to others to let them know there is still hope.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a brand at all times. At my age, I’ve learned how to sort out my creative thoughts and act on them. I created a Facebook talk show called the Bosses Circle and I’ve created a Podcast which I am the host of that has reached other countries as well. I love to use my creations to encourage others. I’ve gotten hundreds of messages from people across the world that simply states how I encourage them and motivate them. I understand my assignment on this earth is to encourage people from a place of healing and TRUTH! One thing I’ve learned on this journey is to stay true to yourself. With social media’s ever changing systems it’s so easy to get caught up in the trends and in the hype of it and lose yourself. Understand what you’re saying and know exactly who you’re saying it to at all times. You don’t know how your authenticity helps others through whatever they’re going through. The world needs what you have! It’s definitely not going to be easy and you’re going to have times when giving up seems easier then going on but I promise it’s worth it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooouu this is a great question! On Monday I’d absolutely take them to the museum and Aunty Tabitha Brown’s new restaurant! Tuesday would be the Concert hall and the water grill. Honestly my social media probably would have run out by then so we’d really just chill at the house the rest of the weekend haha. Things are so fast so you definitely have to be careful with how much you are out sometimes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate this to one of my biggest inspirations and that is My mom. I’ve seen her be an amazing and strong woman even when it was a lot happening at once. I’d also like to dedicate this to my grandparents. Last but not least my big cousin, Kiara Streater. Her zeal and dedication makes me want to keep going. We actually grew up in the same place and to see her elevation inspires me so much.
