Meet Ja’Lyn Reese | Sneakers/Streetwear

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ja’Lyn Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ja’Lyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The love I have for shoes is unmatched. Growing up hooping really did it for me. Your appearance on the court mattered because when you feel good you play good and I feel like that resonates with putting on a pair of sneakers that you love. When I went to junior college I found a friend who had a similar love for sneakers like me. He was reselling first and I just jumped on game to make some quick money. We were selling shoes out of the back of our trunks. He really taught me the true hustle to the game. Being able to provide the sneakers that sold out in stores and the smile it put on the client’s face is what I loved about this business and that’s why I have continued to pursue it. I am a female in a male dominated industry, I am doing it for myself but also those other young people who want to start a business!
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m Ja’Lyn, the founder and heart behind this passion-driven endeavor. Since 2017, I’ve been on a journey to bring style, comfort, and individuality to your feet through the art of footwear. At FootedbyReesey, we believe that every step you take should be a confident expression of your unique personality.
The seeds of FootedbyReesey were sown from my genuine love for shoes and the profound joy they bring to people’s lives. As a shoe enthusiast, I’ve always been fascinated by the transformative power of a pair of sneakers. Not only do they enhance your overall look, but they also elevate your spirit, allowing you to conquer the day with a fresh pair of kicks.
Stay fresh and FootedbyReesey!
-Ja’Lyn

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to should out my family for always keeping me encouraged and doing the little things to help my business grow! I also want to shout out my friend Rontavious Coley for being a mentor to me in this game!
