We had the good fortune of connecting with Jake Keeble and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jake, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
It seems the big plan when you’re growing up is to go to college, get a degree and start working your way up the chain of command. I realized early on that I wasn’t too keen on the conventional path, and in order to achieve my goal as a performer I had to go a different route. There’s nothing wrong with it, but sometimes it can be difficult to follow your true passion or gift when society tells you success comes with a degree.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a songwriter, it allows me the freedom to create my own story. I write songs based on how they make me feel and well, I’ve got a large spectrum of emotions. My band, ‘Hedonistas,’ is the perfect outlet for the melting pot of genres we create. I think that is what sets us apart the most, we have a little something for everybody. Our musical inspirations as a whole range from Frank Sinatra to Pantera to Led Zeppelin. Meanwhile, my other project, known as Vin Mariani, is more of my R&B and pop-funk fix. I’m mostly excited to just perform on stage again. The year of 2020 was tough for those who crave the stage, and to see things coming back a little bit is very exciting. Nothing worth it is easy, but I’m thankful to have the privilege of doing what I love to do. It has taken years of dedication to my craft and faith in myself to get to where I am today. I realize that this is still just the beginning and there will be plenty of challenges to overcome, but you simply cannot give up for it is all so worth it at the end of the day. I want people to know that I make music for them. Nothing feeds my soul more than seeing the impact that my music can have on others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The culture of Atlanta is unlike any other city, it’s hard to know where to begin. Of course, there’s the Beltline which gives you a solid tour of the whole city. Grab an electric bike and cruise to Ponce City Market or Krog Street market, stopping at little shops and restaurants along the way. Later that night, head to Claremont Hotel for a drink on the roof with a view. And if you’re feeling wild, you may make your way to the basement lounge where you’ll find some wholesome fun… Atlanta happens to have one of the largest aquariums in the world, where you can see both whale sharks and penguins with a glass of wine in hand. However, there is so much to see and do in Atlanta, sometimes the best plans are the ones un-planned. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m incredibly lucky to have my family as the ultimate support group. My parents, brother, and sister have all played a crucial role in my career, and have always encouraged me to do what I love. I can’t thank them enough for that!
