We had the good fortune of connecting with Jah-Isha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jah-Isha, why did you pursue a creative career?
I choose to pursue an artistic career in Photography because of the freedom and peace I find in creating work that will always be appreciated.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a visual artist. What set me apart from others is my choice of media; a camera and tiny humans. I am most proud of my commitment to nourishing my specialty as well as, developing as a business. I look forward to expanding my brand, adding to my portfolio, and being able to provide an all-inclusive photography experience. It was not easy getting to where I am today, I had to be very focused on consistently learning the business, improving my skills, and walking in faith. Along the way, I’ve learned how important it is to time block, be confident in my creations, and protect my peace. I want the world to know that I am not only a maternity/ newborn photographer, but I am a woman and mother first. I understand the journey to motherhood and how important these moments are in womanhood. My goal is to create an experience that will never be forgotten, and products that will forever commemorate it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friends and I are at this point in life where a week of fun doesn’t look the same as it did at 21. First thing’s first, get far away from the children for optimal relaxation. An AirBnB overlooking the city would be most appropriate. Every day would look like sleeping in, waking up to an hour of quiet time to reflect on our intentions for the day. Eating a hearty brunch somewhere like the BQE. Then some sort of physical activity (yoga or dance classes), followed by an act of self-care ( lashes one day, nails another, facials the next…) and a long night of live entertainment, mixed with good drinks, and delicious food. We like trying new things so there would be no two nights where dinner is the same.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This may sound cliche but big ups to my parents Mattea (the realtor) & Ishi. They had me at a young age and still managed to teach me the importance of staying true to self, good morals, a genuine heart, and a go-getter mentality. Good Parents often get overlooked. Shout out to mine, the two I know I can lean on. I aspire to be the same for my children.
