We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaelyn Grier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaelyn, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I started Branding by Jae for small businesses and entrepreneurs like myself. Being an entrepreneur means being the brains behind the scenes, being the graphic designer, being the social media manager, being the marketer, fulfilling orders, handling customer service issues, keeping it all together, and still having a life of your own. When I started my businesses, I wish I had a resource to help me get started, avoid the avoidable, and operate in my lane. I had to do everything on my own and I made a lot of mistakes. My end goal is to help as many businesses and brands as I can reach their full potential. There is so much fulfillment in being your own boss, and I love that I get to create bosses for a living. Branding by Jae offers graphic design services, business resources, classes, business coaching and so much more. Last year, I created 5 six-figure business owners, and helped 10 new entrepreneurs quit their day job, we serviced hundreds of businesses for their business and graphic design needs, and I made my first six figures myself. This is the beginning of something big. I cannot wait to see where my branding agency goes and all the lives it will impact. Our website launches June 1st and we’re so excited for new beginnings.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Branding by Jae is the new branding agency on the block but we’ve already made such a positive impact on entrepreneurs like us. What makes us different from any other branding agency, is the fact that you won’t need anyone else for your brand or business needs. Our service list is extensive, our classes are beneficial to your business and brand, our resources will take you to the next level. Our retainers minimize your to-do list so you can operate in your lane. We design, create, and upgrade amazing brands. We’ve turned side hustlers into CEOs and we plan on coaching many more to the same level. We’re just different. I had to struggle on my own as a business owner, learn from my mistakes and bounce back before I could show people how to avoid those mistakes. I had to make my own six figures before I could show someone else how. It was not easy getting where I am today but I am just getting started. I promise.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a homebody! I’m too busy to really get out too much. My idea of fun is a good drink and a great meal. When my family and friends visit I take them to all my favorite food places. Sunday we might go to Old Lady Gang and get Sunday dinner. Monday I’m feeling Big Bang Pizza, it is the coolest black owned restaurant in the area. Robots actually greet you and serve you your food. Kenzie loves it! The drinks are amazing too. Tuesday we’re definitely going to Slim and Husky’s for $10 Husky’s and a good drink! They are a black owned pizza joint that is amazing! Wednesday we’re going to Johnny’s World Famous Chicken & Waffles because I think all tourists have to try this place! Thursday we’re going to Slutty Vegan for the best burger period! Vegan or not! Friday and Saturday I’m thinking brunch at Egg Harbor Café & Atlanta Breakfast Club. Saturday night we’re going to get Chef X’s pasta from Ghost Kitchen on Edgewood. It’s the best I ever had! Now that’s fun to me. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success is attributed to my daughter Makenzie. She motivated me in a way I never knew I could be motivated. I have always been self sufficient, I was a first generation college graduate in my family. My love for Kenzie still lights another fire in me. My daughter drives me to create generational wealth instead of waking up everyday working for someone else’s dream. She deserves everything. I want to provide her with the best life and that alone is my motivation to always do more and strive for greatness. I started her own business for her. It’s called Kenzie’s Korner ATL. We sale girls clothing & accessories. We’re looking to open a store front in Atlanta this year. I’m raising her to understand the importance of entrepreneurship and securing her own future.
