We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jade, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was actually employed, at the time, with a CPA firm, literally doing ALL the work. One day I just got tired. I was tired of working 9 am – 9 or 10 pm. I was tired of being the one that had all the answers, especially because it wasn’t my company. I was tired of being asked to train unqualified individuals to do my job. I was just over it and I started to think, “If I can do all this work for someone else and only make $15/hour, I can do this for myself and get the full check.” Aside from the money though, I felt like I wasn’t operating in my purpose. So it wasn’t just my own thoughts, I also had to get clear on what it was that God had called me to do. I knew that everything I’d done up to October 2018, didn’t get me far, so I asked myself, “Why not try God?”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m not just an Accountant. Yes, I own a full service accounting firm but it’s so much bigger than that. I have a wealth of knowledge in business formations and licensing, bookkeeping, wealth building, and corporate taxation. But aside from all of that, I am the GOAT! After stepping into the online space, I started to notice a pattern. Many of the popular Accountants had no substance or they were very knowledgeable in taxation for sole proprietorships but were not able to help companies that needed to transition out of that and into corporate taxation. Then, there were Bookkeepers who had no knowledge of financial reports and how to help their clients make more money and build wealth. Those were just some of the things I saw, and I knew immediately that my firm was different. We can help clients from START to FINISH. I believe that everything starts with mindset and that’s where I start. Money Mindset is one of the things that keeps individuals from an abundant life. It was something that I had to work on myself and it changed my financial situation tremendously. After my mindset shifted, so did my money! It took a lot of work to get to where I am today. Most of the time when people here the word “WORK” they immediately think that it means, staying up all night. But it’s so much bigger than that. I had to do mental and spiritual work. I had to repair relationships with people after 15 & 18 years. I had to go some places I never thought I’d go. I had to change my circle and the people that I was letting into my space. What I had was sacred and I had to protect it. None of it was easy! But prayer and positioning is what helped me overcome. I took no obstacle personal. I surrendered to it and kept and open mind every step of the way. There were many times when I thought that maybe it was easier to tell God no and go back to the old life because quite frankly after my YES, I went through things that almost broke me. I meet people all the time who think that entrepreneurship is this “walk in the park”. What people don’t understand is that EVERYONE has a story. I’ve learned that nothing comes easily and when you are doing this thing according to God, you’ve got to have faith! I tell this story of newborn puppies. They have FAITH. They are born without their eye sight and their limbs are not strong. They have to depend on their mom for everything. When it’s time to eat, they desperately drag their body to their mama for milk. That is faith. A few of the biggest lessons I’ve learned are: – Prepare for what you’re praying for! – Don’t let anyone talk you out of the vision! – Everybody can’t go! Right now, I’m super proud and excited about the fact that many of my financial coaching clients are going to transition into $100,000 months this year! My goal, for this year, is to help 250 black women shift from broken money mindsets and clean up their business finances so that they make their first million in 2021.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okay first here’s a disclaimer… my friends know not to come and stay that long HAHAHA! We’d likely eat seafood boils and some good ole soul food the entire trip. I’d definitely take her to City Market and River Street. Savannah Candy Kitchen is a MUST. Pralines and their Banana Pudding Ice Cream on a Waffle Cone are must haves. We’d spend the day on one or two of the historic city tours. Tybee Island Beach would also be somewhere on the list.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First & Foremost, the person that deserves recognition or any credit for where I am, is GOD! All that I have and all that I am is because of my YES to him. Everything that you see… Everything that you hear is truly a result of my FAITH and Obedience to God.
