Hi Jadayne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been a lover of fashion from a very tender age. I look at fashion as being something representational, it says who you are without you say anything. Women’s fashion represents their moods meaning that they will dress according to what they are feeling in the moment. Most women in this world experience self-doubt about their bodies and their beauty but nothing can make them feel more alive and beautiful like buying a piece of clothing. One out of every ten women will purchase a piece of clothing that gives her a rush of confidence. Unlike a man, a woman will purchase clothing she doesn’t even need because she likes it and it will be perfect for her when a special occasion comes along. This is what encouraged me to pursue my idea of creating a women’s clothing store. My decision to only sell clothing that speaks sexy and young was because I wanted each and every woman that came on my website to see items that will make them feel young and hip. Something that most if not every woman desire is the need to purchase clothing that makes them feel like they are 21 again even when they are not.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Getting to where i’m at now, it was a journey along a rough and narrow road. I remember when i first started my online store. I remember thinking that ok, once i launch and make a post of my products on Instagram i would make a sale instantly, but unfortunately that wasn’t case. Building a fashion brand it takes work, dedication and self-belief. I remember sitting down everyday watching all these YouTube videos and reading blogs on how to make your first sale and grow your customer base. I would implement these strategies daily even with no results i would still be going because i believe that it was going to work and one day i was sitting outside on the veranda and i heard a chi Ching sound on my phone, when i got up to see what it was it was a notification from shopify saying i had made my first sale. I was so happy it felt like my heart was about to explode it was racing so fast like i had just been frightened. I made five more sales the following day and since then, I’ve been getting consistent orders which taught me a lesson that determination and dedication will always prevailing because if i had given up i wouldn’t have seen that day which make my heart smile, because no is more precious to a new entrepreneur than making his/her first sale. What makes me proud is that i’m able to make all the women happy that purchases something from my website because it leaves them feeling happy within themselves. I only want the world to know that Hot 21 Fashion is a brand that will leave all females feeling young and hip once they wear our clothing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, Atlanta isn’t my home town. I was born in Jamaica currently still my residence, but most of my suppliers are from Atlanta which is why i mainly target my products to females living in Atlanta. Based on what i know, i would recommend visiting the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I heard it’s a place where one can go be at peace, free from the world and then have a bite to eat once your done.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would just like to give a huge shoutout to my parents and my girlfriend who has been so supportive of my entrepreneurial journey since the beginning. If it wasn’t for their motivation and encouragement, I wouldn’t have had the urge to continue on this journey.
