We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and my brand is God. I one-hundred percent believe that I couldn’t do this without Jesus Christ as my foundation. I even pray before every appointment and ask that God guides my hands with every stroke of my brush. One of my favorite Bible verses is actually is Romans 8:31 which says “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” And I carry that motto because although I don’t have a huge following or the “clout”, I know God opens doors for me even if I’m not seen as qualified by man. I’m qualified in his kingdom and that reigns supreme over this world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When booking with me it’s more than another makeup appointment. It’s an experience. It’s an experience that every woman wants to feel when being serviced. With high quality customer service, as well as incentives that come along with every appointment, I strive to make every client relaxed and have each individual leaving feeling like the queen that they are. In the upcoming year, 2023, we will offer complimentary champagne, hors d’oeuvres, face and neck massages and so much more. This new year is bringing in a new meaning of luxury.

After years of failing and succeeding while practicing makeup, owner Jada Owens decided to professional pursue her makeup career in college out of her dorm room. Although, the start up process for her was rough in the beginning, she refused to give up on her first love…. art. She has had an artist gift for as long as she can remember and she is more than excited to begin to network and share her talents with the world! Her motto is “I’m an artist before a makeup artist“.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When from Atlanta, you quickly have to know your way around because between traffic and new construction, it can become a mess real quick! To wind down but still ensure a good time, I would say Ponce City Market is the way to go. Midtown is most definitely one of my favorite areas for hanging out with friends. They have a lot of food spots as well as cool areas to take pics for the gram. It’s also a park across the street if you want to take a quick stroll or rent a scooter. And if you not feeling the food there I would most definitely say take a short trip down the street to Mary Mac’s for some good soul food or Negril if you’re feeling Caribbean. And if you just want something simple try J.R Crickets for some wings. It’s not the best but it’s a quick fix for hunger. As an Atlanta native I wouldn’t recommend being cheap and settling for the Varsity around the corner because your stomach will most definitely regret it later!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give thanks to not only God who is the head of my life, but also to my family who supports me constantly. I would like to thank myself as well for showing up everyday regardless of what life was saying in that moment.
