We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Lovell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jada, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to create my own high end fashion house. I want to be known for shopping unique pieces for a-list clients, having style out of this world, influencing people to be different on the daily & traveling the world to get paid to shop. One of my main focuses as a wardrobe stylist would be to have my clients looking and feeling their best. I would like to see my work in movies, commercials, tv, red carpet, award shows, concerts you name it. I want to tour and style some of my favorite artist. I need my portfolio to be filled with legends. I would love to have my own show room & store front with hand selected pieces for sale that I think is dope. I would also like to Collab with some high fashion brands for collections. I want to personally invited to nyfw & pfw with hopes to have my pieces featured on the runway one day. Also I would love for high end designers to send me merch & care packages on the regular. When you think of fashion I want you to think of Jada Lovell. I would like to collect awards and trophies for my work.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a up & coming wardrobe stylist from Philly. I’ve spent alot of time in LA & I’ve also lived in Atl. Growing up being around fashion, constant trips to New York, researching fashion brands, having an eye for it & living in other states definitely opened my mind & has helped developed my sense of style over time. What sets me apart from others is that I love the things that people wouldn’t even think about picking up. I like to think outside the box. I’m into diy reconstruction outfits, mix & match.. I like to buy stuff and save it or piece it together with stuff I already have idk like I just know I’m fly lol… I am most proud of all the jobs I’ve done so far and I haven’t even applied much pressure or really got into styling yet. I want 2022 to be about my legacy and me really showcasing my work and getting more clientele. I got to where I am working as a wardrobe pa for tv shows. It was not easy, I put alot of work in but it was worth it. As long as your a good worker , professional, reliable, trust worthy & creative people will always call you for work. I’m still working towards where I want to be so I learn something new everyday. I want the world to know that no matter obstacles life throw at me I keep pushing towards my goals. Just because I’m not where I want to be yet doesn’t mean I won’t be there soon. I don’t pay people that sleep on me any mind because they’ll be woke soon. I do what makes me happy & wear what I want to wear proudly. I focus on my mental & physical health and take it one day at a time. Stay humble but still aware of my worth. My up & coming brand will definitely be one of one and have people wanting more! I’m excited for what’s to come.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area let’s say we are in LA . I would take her to the spa I love the spa. We would take a trip to the dispensary, can’t goto the LA without some good gas. In & out burger can’t goto LA with out having in & out first, To the beach ( perferably Malibu ). Nobu for a cute lil vibe . Melrose for some drip, Beverly Hills to shop for some pieces. Berrys pizza for that lobster pizza. Santee Alley for some drip. Katana for dinner & drinks. Clubbing maybe hit up crazy girls strip club. Ride around LA for the views and esthetic. Walking at Runyon canyon. Really just eating , drinking, shopping , partying, sight seeing & immaculate vibes only
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my aunt Rashida Blalock. She’s an amazing costume designer and she’s taught me pretty much everything I know about working in the wardrobe world. She’s been in the game for over 20 years and always drops gems on me.. Rashida has had her hands in tv / film/ music / & etc styling a listers. Shes styled and worked with artist such as Chris Brown to Will Smith. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be as far as I am in my career and I’m literally just getting started.
