We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline James and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Born and raised by parents from a small country town with one light who decided to raise 8 kids in a big city now called home made childhood life a challenge. Being a teenager was difficult due to battling with a strict Pentecostal background, while living up to my mother’s spiritual standards with few choices of my own. As I matured and transitioned throughout life growing cycles, I’m thankful my parents teaching was the compass that never lead me to astray. My Unwavering faith of my creator, help me to walk in my purpose and be exactly what he called me to be. Strong, mighty, and powerful. An imperfect woman, great leader who motivates others to understand and believe they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
From 1993 until now I’ve worked as a retail manager. Developing people to be great leaders is my passion. My heart always reached out to the one’s others seemed to ignore. They are the people some call the less fortunate. I believed different. I had to prove the doubters wrong and convince the ones with little faith they can. I found it quite easy to teach and train because I always had the patience to show love. Being a leader in the business world taught me how to interact with people of all kinds. Molded me to be transparent and still have the ability to separate personal and make business decisions without regrets. As of now I am strong, sound mind, well balanced, and confident to continue to build my business. Entrepreneurship was always my goal. To own and not be owned. In the beginning I had no idea where to start. Single parent & three small kids. Watching different parents maneuver their lifestyle to reach the goals seemed difficult. One day I was encouraged to just do it. Sometimes you can’t plan because your years of fear will make you drop the pen and ideas every time. Taking a leap of faith allowed me to see clearer. From there everything land in place. Worked full time job and attended college while raising my children. How I did it? Faith In God and persistent hard work. In 2012 I received my first LLC. HairCare Solutions graduated with a Degree in Business and Master Cosmetology License.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It was a week long trip and I am dying in thirst and my hunger craving is about to drive me insane. All I can think of is South Miami Beach where it all began. Fun and excitement with night karaoke, great food and the best margaritas ever. An all in one stop where you can experience everything in one spot.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
People come and go throughout your life journey but there are few who will leave an unforgettable feeling and moments of love. Sometimes we close the books of our lives and fail to share the experiences that could help so many people along the way. God sent me an angel who watched me from a distance for years. Periodically listened to my life struggles. Praised my growth and waited for my readiness to live in freedom. Thank you Mr. Smith for reminding me who I am. I’m grateful for your love which opened the book that was never told. You are my unforgettable feeling, significance of love.
