Meet Jacorey Bellamy | CEO of Corey B Photography

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacorey Bellamy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacorey, what do you want people to remember about you?
The legacy I’m creating is based on “The Influence” that Corey B created all around and the impact that has came about since taking on the photography journey of a lifetime. In 2023 Corey B Photography goal was to showcase “The Moment” to display those highlights in life but the reality is that there are events in the behind the scenes of life that leads up to that “Moment” in life. For every “No” there will be a “Yes” eventually is what I like to tell upcoming creatives such as myself due to the simple fact I’ve been in there shoes when someone try to tell you what you can’t do and say that you aren’t good enough but in reality you can’t dwell on a hat was said. My advice 100% of the time is to give it your all and prove it yourself you can be great that’s when the doubters actually realize they loss out on something great. Based off of a lot of highlights from Corey B Photography in 2023 there were a numerous creatives inspired by Corey B and they were influenced in a way. I would like to be remembered for how I loved to help others before helping myself. It might sound crazy but I love to see people be great cause it let me know all of us can be at the top together as long as we remain humble.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First and Foremost on this journey on how I got here this far is because of God, Family , and support from friends. I’ve been doing photography for 5 years now and 2023 was that year that Corey B Photography needed to go up and beyond expectations . Back when I first started photography there were a lot of boundaries when it came to how to acquire gigs which cause myself to get myself in major events when I didn’t know the proper way. Back in 2022 a writer by name of Kemit High reached out to me from XXL Magazine to feature a picture I captured of Soulja Boy at a local club in North Carolina. That was the first time one of my moments was featured on a major platform. 3 months later I acquired the opportunity to shoot for Hip Hop DX as a freelance photographer. The challenges photographers in the music industry have to overcome is learning how to network and advocate for themselves when it comes to opportunities that’s something I had to learn. To this very day I’ve learned alot and still learning. During the summer of 2023 Corey B Photography attended Broccoli City Fest in Washington, DC and captured moments for Hip Hop DX. Grammy Nominated Artist Coco Jones performed her song “Double Back” in the rain and Corey B captured that viral moment which led to over 10 Million views across all platforms. There have been over several major publications that have reached out to me that goes to say never give up you never know when your time is coming. That goes to say in 2024 I plan to hold a major event that will be open to creatives all around for them to showcase their talent. Corey B Photography will be dropping a photo book and a new magazine that will join our series “The Moment”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would recommend going on lake Norman on the jet ski’s and on a boat ride with friends a time will be had for sure. My favorite restaurant in the area is Rio 150 Mexican Restaurant. I also recommend going uptown charlotte to explore the different lounges.
