We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaamal Mckeithan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaamal, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Plainfield New Jersey, The queen city. I grew up in a house hold as the youngest and only boy amongst all my older sisters. I’ve watched my sisters go through a lot and overcome to success. So that brought me to want to help all women win. I want women to be seen , heard and respected.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Sneakers Are the foundation to my art. This Wearable art called sneakers is the glue i use to bring people together. I use Sneakers as a common ground to bring people together. I highlight women daily on social media, So other women can see them, encourage them, connect with them, and support one another on my platform. Women are leaders, creators and innovators in the community.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would Take them to see the waterfront, the beauty and calm of the water to open the mind to imagination. A nice food truck would compliment the waterfront with some unique, fresh and organic food. The museum of arts for some open talk to express each other current mindset on life and style. The arcades for some fun, laughs and competitive nature.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mentors and inspiration come from my parents Annie Mckeithan and Robert Epps. The person who guided me into content creating , Ricky aka SpaceCampFresh. I also want to thank the brands that believe in me that i’ve done campaigns for and worked for, such as , NIKE, Panasonic, Sneaker Heads Clothing Line, Boxout Brand and Jason Markk.
