We had the good fortune of connecting with Ivriyon Haley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ivriyon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is bringing others closer to God. I believe that’s what everyone’s sole purpose is on this Earth. Many people tie their success to money, luxury items. financial freedom, vacays and so forth. However, I see my my brand become successful when people tell me that my podcast motivated and encouraged them, when they tell me that they relate to the struggles of being a Christian and that they’ve experienced my same highs and lows. When they tell me that they want to work on their relationship with God because of it. Thats when I know God’s words are speaking through me so that He gets the glory.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
1. My business is titled God Girl Goals. It’s a Christian brand that encourages women, who are new believers and believers, to include God in their goals. It is based off Proverbs 3:5-6 to encourage women to not lean onto their own understanding in trying to figure out what’s next for their lives or their purpose but to follow God’s path. My business first started off as Christian apparel and podcasting but now I have completely transitioned to just podcasting. What sets me apart about my business is that through podcasting I give my listeners ways to position themselves to win in achieving their goals as well as helping them gain a closer relationship with God. Not just for blessings but to get to TRULY know God. I also give it to them in a way thats easy, understandable, but is still packed with valuable content. I also have a 30-day Devotional for Goal-Driven Christians who want to get closer to God where I help my readers eliminate fear, self doubt, and distractions to help them receive God’s very best. It’s available on Amazon if you type in my first and last name.

2. I got to where I am today by sticking with my business and staying on this journey of following God no matter how tough it got, no matter how many times I’ve messed up and no matter how many times I’ve wanted to give up. It definitely was not and is still not an easy journey but once you see that what God can give you is so much better than what the world can offer you, you won’t want to stop running the race.

3. The ways that I’ve overcome challenges is by talking to God like I talk to a friend (don’t overthink it you guys lol), prayer and worship, and reading my word. It’s something about opening the Bible for me and feeling that peacefulness come over you. It’s as if you feel so much better about your “challenges” and all distractions go away. I also truly believe that you need a supportive community around you. A community of friends, family, church members etc. who are rooted in God. They are the ones who will hold you accountable and help you grow stronger in faith.

4, Lessons I’ve learned along the way (and still learning) is to not be so hard on myself. A lot of times I beat myself down because I think that I am not doing enough or that I am behind because of the people I see on social media. I’m learning that it’s very important to take social media breaks to gather your mental about where God wants you and not where you think you should be. In business, I would also say that if you decide to sell apparel, try selling smaller quantities at first and know who your target audience really is. Just because you like something and think it’s cute or a good idea, doesn’t mean that your audience will like it. Also, be patient. Things take time. Trust and believe that God is preparing a great thing for you. He does not operate on our timing but His, and when it happens you’ll be happy about when it happened and how it happened.

5. What I want the world to know about my brand is that true success comes from God, not from yourself. You may think that you are the reason why you’ve gotten where you are but it is God who has placed you there (majority of the time, because the devil works too). One of my fave versus comes from part of Deuteronomy 8:18 which says, “You may say to yourself “my power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember The Lord gives you the ability to produce wealth.” I also want others to know that you HAVE to include God in everything and in every decision, even those small ones. We don’t realize that we get off our path because we weren’t receiving clear instructions. We may have moved based off our own thoughts and emotions instead of hearing God’s voice.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Augusta is a small town and is famous for The Masters. It’s not much to do here at all lol. I would definitely say go to Rooted Coffeshop though. It’s like a Christian coffee shop but it’s so cute and you can take Instagram worthy pictures lol. I am from New Orleans so the good here definitely doesn’t live up to what I am used to. I eat at a lot of chain restaurants majority of the time, However, there is a black-owned cafe called Cafe 209 that has great southern food. For fun activities I recommend a boat ride to learn about the history of Augusta at the Riverwalk, it’s really cool. Other than that I just hang out with my friends here at their houses.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to God! I never would have known that my purpose was not only attached to starting a business, but attached to so many lives if I hadn’t developed a real relationship with him. We put so much pressure on ourselves on what our relationship with God “should” look like, when in actuality all of our relationships with him are different, and what I love about Him is that he meets us exactly where we are. All we have to do is just open our hearts. I also want to give a shoutout to my church here in Augusta, GA. Without them I don’t know if I ever would have gone deeper in my faith. They have challenged me in ways like never before. Because of them I had the desire to be baptized, a feeling I had never felt until I moved here.
