We had the good fortune of connecting with Ishiah Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ishiah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Nothing resonated more profoundly than embracing the creative talents bestowed upon me by God. I have made multiple endeavors into various career paths—areas in which I possessed genuine aptitude—yet I struggled to achieve sustainability. In contrast, my pursuits in singing and music require no undue effort to flourish; they simply come naturally, as they are my true calling. I have willingly accepted this divine summons, and I am grateful that God has honored my affirmative response.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The willingness to authentically present myself through my art is what distinguishes me. My professional journey has been marked by the consistent adherence to God’s vision, plans, and desires for my artistry apart from my own. It has been a process of discerning the purpose of my gifts and utilizing them to inspire a reevaluation of perceptions regarding Christ. There exists a distorted view of Christianity and what it means to walk with Jesus, which has led many astray. I am confident that my music will serve to illuminate others, encouraging them to explore Jesus anew and to recognize that God’s love is transformative and unconditional. There is no need to adopt an artificially constructed persona; authenticity is paramount. Through my work, my audience will come to understand this truth—one song at a time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One week with me would start with: -devotion in the AM
-morning workout
-breakfast at Milk & Honey
-a little retail therapy
-dinner

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am deeply grateful to my parents for fostering my passion for music; they serve as the foundational influence and blueprint of my musical journey. Additionally, I extend my sincere appreciation to Braxton, known professionally as Melodicb, who was the first individual to encourage me to enter the recording studio and create my inaugural song. I am eternally thankful to him for nurturing that initial seed of creativity through song.
