We had the good fortune of connecting with Isaac Belton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isaac, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have always loved to create things and ideas that would make people feel good, smile or have a great time since I was a child. I was always felt fulfilled and greatly appreciated when I was able coin concepts and pen them down or join a brainstorm session to generate creative ideas for my school’s projects, events and academic works as well as my home community, family and friends. Anything apart from creative work felt boring and drained me a lot. That was when I realised the industry I was going to work for in the future.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It has always been my creative process and how I execute to solve creative problems. That is what gets me through the brief stage to the final outcome of the projects I get the opportunity to work on. People I have worked with always loved the way I think and the refreshing ideas I bring to the table to achieve a set goal. My reviews for the creative I have created (Belton Conceptz) have always centred on creative ideas and how I execute them and that has tremendously helped build the brand because brands and individuals who worked with me always got results they are looking for and more.

I would say it professionally started in high school where I would join the creative club and eventually become the creative club’s organizer. This is where me and my team would handle all events, creative projects and collaborations with organizations, brands and other high schools. I also later became an Organizer in college for my department within the School of Humanities & Legal Studies. Like I said before, I always loved to create or sit at a brainstorm table with amazing people to create awesome ideas. So I did not play with opportunities that gave me the room to do that. I learned how to use tech products such as SketchUp, Blender and Layout to design my ideas, tell my creative story and plan execution guides and plans. My interest even grew further when I realised these tech creative tools were part of the college syllabus to build our professional carriers back in 2016. The organization of meetings, award events, celebration events, seminars among many others helped prepare me for the industry giving me hands-on experience. One memorable one was the Student’s Representative Council & Dean awards event. With all of these learning and trainings, I have been able to evolve, build on what I acquired (and continues to) to build the brand I have today.

Trying to breakthrough to get my first major ‘brand project’ wasn’t easy just like everything else. I remember back in those early days, we used Pinterest or online google images to serve as the ‘design of projects’ or as execution reference files together with sketches. One challenge was when the images and sketches weren’t able to fully establish the effect, moods and creative direction I wanted to sell. That creatively drained me a lot and also made curious and that was how I discovered that I could use CAD programmes to create exactly what I want to do. It was a big moment for me! Like I could move around in my design, pan and move things while I create? SIGN ME UP! haha. I could not wait to get them, install and start modelling my ideas. But another challenge was moving clients, colleagues and individuals from the old ways of creating to making everything in these tech CAD software. It was a battle in the ‘Valley of Elah’. lol! But we are here. Now even the smallest thing, clients request a 3D design. Haha, times changes huh?

I leaned that to survive in the creative art space and any other space I believe, you have to be very very inquisitive. I cant stress on that enough. That has really helped me to evolve and learn more even without realising it. Be inquisitive about your profession and also be patient. Yes! Sometimes it might seem slow and you are not really sure of what you’re doing but don’t stop. You lose when you do. Keep going and continue to be inquisitive and patient.

Nobody else does it the way we do! The way Belton Conceptz does it. The goal of Belton Conceptz is to become the go to creative powerhouse for brand’s customers to have the best VIP experiences while satisfying brands goals. I want people to see ‘Belton Concept’ on a brand experience or event flier and immediately rush to look for how to get admission because they understand they will get thee best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I do not live in the city so I would be a ‘bad’ starter guide for a visitor. Hahaha…I’m sorry

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
