We had the good fortune of connecting with India Starke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi India, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I decided to start my own business as a fashion designer, I was thinking about creativity, individuality, and the power of self-expression. I’ve always had a passion for fashion and a keen eye for unique style, and I wanted to create something that allowed people to stand out and feel confident in what they wear.

I knew that the fashion industry was competitive, but I also knew that my vision—custom, statement-making streetwear—filled a space that many people were looking for. I wanted to build a brand that wasn’t just about clothing but about personal style, bold expression, and the artistry behind customization.

Starting Style JUNKIEZ Klozet was about stepping into my own purpose, merging my creative side with my entrepreneurial spirit. I was thinking about freedom, impact, and the joy of seeing people wear pieces that make them feel empowered. It wasn’t just a business decision—it was a move toward fulfilling a dream.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is all about bold self-expression, individuality, and creativity. Through Style JUNKIEZ Klozet, I design custom, statement-making streetwear that allows people to showcase their unique style with confidence.

What sets my work apart is the level of personalization I bring to each piece—I’m not just selling clothing; I’m curating wearable art that speaks to those who dare to stand out.

One of the things I’m most proud of is seeing people light up when they put on one of my designs. Knowing that my work empowers others to embrace their style and authenticity fuels my passion every day. I’m also excited about the growth of my brand and the continued opportunities to push creative limits in the fashion industry.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. The journey has been filled with lessons, sacrifices, and moments of doubt, but every challenge has made me stronger. Breaking into the fashion industry requires resilience, and I had to learn how to navigate entrepreneurship, balance creativity with business, and trust my vision even when things got tough. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight—patience, consistency, faith, and hard work are essential.

I want the world to know that Style JUNKIEZ Klozet is more than just a brand—it’s a movement. It’s about celebrating individuality and wearing STYLE with confidence. My story is one of passion and perseverance, and my goal is to continue inspiring others to chase their dreams and express themselves unapologetically through fashion.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I had to pinpoint the sources of my strength and motivation, they would undoubtedly be the people who have poured into me—my father, my sister circle, my clients, and my incredible supporters.

During my father’s passing, he gave me permission to live the life of my choosing, and those words have been my foundation. His blessing was a reminder that I have the freedom to create, to take risks, and to fully embrace my artistry without fear. It was a gift of reassurance that I carry with me every day.

My longtime sister circle has been my anchor. Even in moments of self-doubt, they remind me of my purpose, pushing me forward when I question my path. Their unwavering encouragement keeps me grounded, and I am beyond grateful for their love and belief in me.

To my clients—both new and returning—you are the heartbeat of Style JUNKIEZ Klozet. Your trust in my artistic vision, your willingness to embrace my designs, and your excitement about each new creation fuel my passion. Seeing you wear my work with confidence is the greatest reward.

And to my followers—you are my silent (and sometimes not-so-silent) motivators. The way you consistently watch, like, share my posts, and even take the time to send random messages of support and affirmation, does not go unnoticed. Knowing my willingness to test the boundaries of fashion keeps me inspired to push even further.

This journey isn’t just mine—it belongs to every single person who has poured into me. I am honored to walk this path with you all, and I promise to keep creating, evolving, and challenging the limits of fashion with my eclectic artistry.
