We had the good fortune of connecting with Iesha Chevry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Iesha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was being able to create what hadn’t existed as far as how I perceive art. The healing process behind creativity for me and how any individual can interpret the work. So I decided to combine my love for fashion, individuality and self expression to create a business that enthusiastically connected the dots between personal style and unique idealism
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my life, the path that has brought me here explaining myself for who I am at this moment. I’m proud of how I was able to overcome the fear of being misunderstood or critical of what people might think and once I did, everything would flow, it “made sense”. I’ve learn to rest and exercise my mind. Anytime I would have a burst of creative energy. Ieshachevrycreativeco brand is Fun, Exciting Inventive and authentic.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im from New York I’ve been a few places in my life but nothing like visiting the Bowery electric to discover underground musicians and to hear an amazing live band. Don coqui in Astoria, Rebèl Haitian restaurant in Manhattan just a few of where I like to go.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Through out the years my inspiration has been a very spiritual standpoint. God, connection, love. The journey within itself has inspired me to appreciate the processes of life. Meeting individuals from all walks of life and what ignites them mentally, culturally and in the spirit realm. My love for vintage, novelty and the original source of what came before what we have now. Even though nothing is “new” but a discovery to one who hasn’t been opened to it yet. I refer to The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and many work by various poets and philosophers. Also the philosophy of my elders and ones who have lived for a while.
