We had the good fortune of connecting with Hucky Pressley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hucky, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I started my lash salon, I was already a wife and mom, so from day one, finding balance was a challenge. I was building a business from the ground up while also trying to be fully present at home—and that’s not easy. In the beginning, I definitely leaned more toward work. I felt like I had to give 110% to get the business off the ground, and I often stretched myself thin.

Over time, I’ve learned that balance doesn’t mean giving everything equal time—it means giving each area of my life the attention it needs in the moment. Some days that means focusing more on the salon; other days, my family comes first. I’ve had to get better at setting boundaries, trusting my team, and allowing myself to unplug when I’m home.

Being a wife and mom will always be my biggest priority, but I’m also proud of the business I’ve built. I think the key is being present wherever I am and giving myself permission to shift the balance when life calls for it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called Lashes of Atlanta, and we specialize in lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow services, and creating a high-end, welcoming experience for every client who walks through our doors. What sets us apart is the intentionality behind everything we do. We’re not just focused on beauty—we’re focused on consistency, professionalism, and making sure our clients feel cared for and confident when they leave.

What I’m most proud of is the environment we’ve created. We’ve built a team that truly works together , and our space is warm, clean, and client-focused. I always say: we don’t just do lashes—we create an experience. I’m also proud of the systems and standards we’ve built over time. It’s those details that make a difference in client trust and loyalty.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I started this journey as a wife and mom, balancing my family life while learning to run a business. In the early days, I wore all the hats: technician, receptionist, marketing, everything. There were plenty of sacrifices—late nights, missed events, moments of doubt—but I kept going because I believed in what I was building. Over time, I learned the importance of delegating, trusting others, and taking care of myself too. Growth really started to happen when I let go of the idea that I had to do it all alone.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success takes time. There are no shortcuts. It’s the small, consistent actions—showing up for your clients, treating your team well, holding your standards—that create a strong brand.

What I want the world to know is that Lashes of Atlanta was built with heart. We’re not here to just offer beauty services—we’re here to uplift women, create careers for beauty professionals, and pour into the community that’s supported us. I’m a mom, a wife, and a business owner—and I’m proof that you can build something amazing with passion, resilience, and the right support.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit Atlanta, we’d have the perfect mix of beauty, food, fun, and local gems—starting, of course, with a visit to Lashes of Atlanta for a lash lift or full set to kick things off right!

We’d spend our mornings grabbing coffee and walking through Vinings Jubilee or Piedmont Park, followed by brunch at spots like Breakfast at Barneys or The Select. Afternoons would be for exploring—Ponce City Market, the Atlanta BeltLine, the Georgia Aquarium, or a scenic hike at Sweetwater Creek. Evenings? Dinner and drinks at Two Urban Licks, Canoe, or The Garden Room, and maybe a rooftop vibe at Hotel Clermont.

We’d squeeze in a spa day at JeJu Sauna, some shopping, and a night out in Midtown or at The Battery. Atlanta’s full of charm, great food, and unforgettable experiences—especially when shared with your best friend.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are four very special people who absolutely deserve a huge shoutout in my journey: my husband, my twin sister, and my kids.

My husband—my business partner and biggest supporter—has been my rock through every high and low of building my salon. His constant encouragement, patience, and belief in me—even when I doubted myself—have been everything. He holds it down at home when I need to be at the salon late, celebrates every win with me, and reminds me of my “why” on the hard days. Having him by my side in both life and business has made all the difference.

My twin sister—my built-in best friend and biggest cheerleader—is the reason I even stepped into the lash and beauty industry. She trained and mentored me in the beginning and helped lay the foundation for everything I’ve built since. Her guidance, support, and belief in my potential gave me the confidence to start my own journey.

And my kids—they are my biggest motivation. Every decision I make, every goal I chase, and every late night I put in is with them in mind. They inspire me to lead by example, to dream big, and to never give up. Watching them grow while they watch me build something I love is one of the greatest blessings of all.

Their love and support have helped me grow not just as a business owner, but as a woman—and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.
